Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Southerner replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
The way I potentially see it. If it costs an extra few thousand when your potentially borrowing money at a lower interest rate, it doesn't make alot of difference at the time to ensure you get the purchase. As a percentage when your spending larger sums of money to add on the extra "tax" people are trending to do it. Overall bang for buck the e30/36 chassis is still pretty good compared to other desirable vehicles. I certainly won't be selling mine anytime soon, I'd have to finish it first 😂 -

Don't get me wrong I'm all for the things I own to improve in value. However I also struggle to believe a vehicle I brought has skyrocketed in "value" in less than two years. It's not like in that time half them fell off the road or got written off so they got rarer. I believe it's to do with "hype" combined with what was low interest rates over that period and essentially "free interest" lended money. This is confirmed when in the last 3 months the car values are dropping 20% atleast from a year ago and appear to be sitting on trademe from the auctions I follow across all sorts of vehicles -
Do you have a link to it? Cant seem to find it!

Back into this thing and is progressing. Working through driveshaft hoops at the moment. Along with exhaust, will put some photos up next day or so in regards to that. Have an adrenalin r twin 2" back box, and a pair of 2" torque chambers, will be a full twin 2" system stainless. Here's a couple of photos of a pair of shoes I tried on today Bit over tired at the moment, was more to try on fitment wise if I manage to stumble across a set for myself.

Bit of late night last night with @euroriffic. Tidied up the wiring alot, none really visable which i wanted to achieve. Will work on headers and driveshaft hoops next to then waterblast/scrub the engine bay to then install the radiator. Injector/fuel rail cover will get slightly adjusted to sit better.

Last set just sold on trademe couple weeks ago and there was a post a few weeks before that for someone else looking. Best bet these days is to retro fit some older Recaro. The sports seats are getting hard to find, not alot of people are parting cars out these days

https://www.trademe.co.nz/3544258196 This seems not too bad? Ripe for an engine swap or even a nice tidy up -
Pair of Brembo 4 pot/piston calipers off a BMW e38. These brakes are a great upgrade and there's adapters out there available to suit BMW knuckles. Light and big brakes, bigger and lighter than e36 M3 brakes as shown in last picture $350 plus freight from Dunedin

There's a few things I noticed when I viewed it that others who haven't owned/know about wouldn't pick up that would trip them up and be costly -

Few things I noticed when I viewed it last week. Anyone with questions feel free to PM -
Few pages back and a few months since posting, Sold 3 of my other vehicles past month and knocked a few other projects over. None the less this thing will be getting more attention moving forward

To my knowledge the sedans in question are completely different to the coupes as such. A sedan 318is ms is on of approx 50 of in nz, south African assembled, in the usually m3 colours (Dakar hellrot fiji). The coupes never came, in my knowledge, in 318is ms limited edition. One of approx 50 is alot different to a 318is coupe, hence the pricing on these sedans.

This one seems odd, has been listed several times. And the most recent it even had a leading bid 1 day out, closed with no bids on it? Seems like not a bad price given what it appears to be and with the wheels etc -
Sadly have to sell this as have a 4x4 I need to keep and need some funds free up for the E30 build, mainly exhaust and cert 2003 BMW E46 Touring 320d 2 litre diesel turbo. Auto NZ New 209kms Wof rego and ruc Tidy car in and out. Have owners manuals and service history Have recently done glow plugs and a swirl flap delete Msport steering wheel and seats Cruise control Air con etc New battery 800cca this week Goes good and good on fuel. Nice to drive around and out of town. Was going to keep this car for a long time but have other projects to spend it on Located Dunedin $4500

To be realistic it depends on what your thinking is nicely? Is it purely a M52 and nothing else possibly. But to go with one to do it nicely, Gearbox Clutch New radiator LSD Suspension Brakes Steering Rack Dont know if your allowing for wheels and maybe even interior in this build and is that part of the 5k? Could be done later. Depends on where you draw the line in the sand,

Welcome to the forum! I too have the same dream and am doing this swap myself, my project is in the project thread. As @Sammo said, whats your budget? Realistically its not a cheap process these days, even the car themselves have skyrocketed, probably 15K minimum for a nice coupe, that before any work on it
