Haha oh she'd notice alright...! K&n is doing me well for now... maybe in the future! Just filled in the little imperfections, now ready for sand and first primer! Will take pics and upload later on Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Thanks guys, just picked up a Hamann style one. Toms is slightly diff colour unfortunately, plus I really don't want to make it look like something it's not (csl) - besides the wheels haha! Needs a bit of work before painting, hope to do most this arvo. Won't be done before tomorrow unfortunately - I don't want to rush it. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Well priorities changed again - a mate of mine stacked into a kerb and made mincemeat out of the front lip this morning. Didn't touch it for a year, let one friend drive it... Options on styles are ACS, Hamann or similar Strassentech. I don't really like the ACS struts, and wouldn't mind a change, so Hamann style may be an option here. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Jasmit had a set on his e46, can't recall what happened to them - may still be in the community? http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27989&page=2

x2... I started watching them with a bit of interest recently, as prices started dropping fast.. staying WELL away after reading this thread!

Thanks, good read. Those yanks seem confused between 'need' and 'want'..

This is as far as my research has taken me: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-13415-genuine-bmw-m-performance-steering-wheel-e9x-e82.aspx Further results pending.

Hi all, It’s been a busy few months sourcing bits and pieces for MTOY. I'm really happy with how the exterior looks now, and won't be making any further changes for now. Seth's also been in touch and we're going to work out a solution for the rear window tint. I've started replacing the interior pieces that are showing a little wear. The first in the firing line was the gearknob (replaced with the ZCP and alcantara boot last month). I also have a brand new set of mats sitting in their plastic. Next will be the centre console, storage tray and handbrake (the handle has a few scuffs). Later in the piece, I may look at replacing the steering wheel (I’d really like an e92 competition one – more info below) and door panels (there are some really nice replacements available depending on how far your wallet stretches!), but these are pipe dreams for the moment. The door panels are also stepping into aftermarket; which I've avoided so far besides the K&N intake & lip (which didn't come standard on any of the M3 models). On with parts! I really wanted the rotating coin thing, and even though I don’t eat or drink in the car it’s handy to have cupholders. I’ll hang on to the sliding storage pocket in my spare parts drawer for now. I discovered that some offshore limited-run e46 m3 model came with an alcantara handbrake handle & boot (these pics are not my car): This one has a leather handle (not alcantara like the one above) and an alcantara boot. Both pics are other cars: I also ordered an adjustable clutch stop, after searching around everywhere for elevator bolts. No doubt someone will sing out ‘they’re in the bolt aisle at Bunnings’ – chances are I’ve missed them completely. Meh – this one was $10 off Fleabay. Here’s the competition steering wheel I’d like to investigate retrofitting. Looks like it’s optioned for the e82 and e9x, and there are choices around the centre cover (plastic or alcantara) and the reference mark (hopefully can remove): More info here:http://http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-13415-genuine-bmw-m-performance-steering-wheel-e9x-e82.aspx I'll need to get a new airbag, wheel cover & centre too as it's a different shape to the e46. If it works, I think it’ll look great.

Haha that's quite... disappointing. Mind you, I can imagine the M3 would be a fair bit heavier, and would just keep pulling over 100kph. I didn't know much about the i3 before this, so I did a little reading. It looks like a shoe. I'm actually glad this photo is pixellated.

True, and I'm not surprised - the average quality of driver seems to be dropping here. Courtesy and common sense for the most part are non-existent. It's a tough mindset to change, but it needs to change nonetheless.
-
Big call, given some muppets still manage to flip their cars on a straight motorway when the limit is 100. Don't forget also there are additional factors. Besides the obvious ones (like safety), the limit of 120 basically means 130kph is the start of the 'enforceable' zone. This means less cars/drivers likely to get there = less tickets = less revenue = less chance of it passing in court.

Yep, there with bells on! Shame you're not bringing the e92 (I was looking forward to an oogle) but will be great to meet you! Is this the kind of thing you're after? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynavin-DVN-E60-D99-CCC-CIC-Style-iDrive-Navigation-Bluetooth-BMW-E90-E60-E63-/261144424553?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_GPSSystems_GPSSystems&hash=item3ccd6bb069

^^ A man of subtlety indeed; no name, no car...! That e92 interior is just so nice... much more modern than in prior models - I know it goes without saying, but technology sure did take a jump since the e46!!

Haha thanks sascha, as long as I'm not calling someone a bald goat or anything it can stay. Tristan all good thanks - the throw is a lot shorter! Love the leather too. Pics taken on my cell phone - an old galaxy. Bloody good camera given I have no skill! Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Bugger is it wrong as-is? From my research it seemed I could write it either way. Please let me know as it'd be pretty embarrassing if it's spelt incorrectly..! Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Hmm interesting. I've had a couple of opinions from different tinters - and it's a well-known issue with the e46's. Interested to hear JG BMW's solution MJH. Seth & his team did a great job on the side windows, roof and my other car. This rear window just seems to be notoriously difficult. Jeff - thanks I'll have another chat with Seth next week. He's a great guy, and I stick by my original opinion that Car Folie is definitely the best tinter I have ever used, (and I've used a lot). Today's a bloody nice day. I went up to the park to take some photos. I've taken off the Luftwaffe livery, but had Speedy Signs print me another set just in case I want to re-apply in the future! Rutschig Deutscher is staying on though - has anyone worked out what it means yet?
-
Thanks Tristan. I've been looking around at a few options, and think I'll go the full-carbon route for the diffuser rather than half-painted or brushed silver. In the meantime, I've bought an indoor dust cover for the car from Germany. This should hopefully stop all the dust and grime building up on the upper surfaces when I'm tooling around the garage. The rear window tint film is really bugging me. I didn't think it would, but it seems I am more OCD than I'd like to admit. My options: - Remove the rear window tint, and leave the side window film on - Remove all tint from the windows It'd be a shame to remove it all, because Seth has done such a good job on the tint. That dot matrix it such a pain in the ass. Ideas very welcome!!!!

Will do Paul, have yet to do my research and will probably save towards Xmas, so look to purchase in the New Year.

Yep, I saw your fleet in the carpark last night mate haha! I parked next to one of the older ones (I don't think it was your one tho didn't see your name). Yes 1NZFE, gutless as #%! being the auto but even so uses next to no gas. It's now on 59,xxx kms, added 30,000k's in a year from my commute. Has cost me $30 in repairs in that time.. no brainer. I've now spied something else I'd like for M TOY, to continue on the black-and-grey theme. That lack of spending lasted about a day Seems you can get these in a multitude of styles and materials.... Watch this space again.

Lol that would be a sight worth seeing.

With M TOY happily cleaned & tucked away I turned my sights on the daily during the long weekend. May I present quite possibly the cleanest Corolla in the world. Mind the (wheel) gap.
