Yep that’s the one Tristan, superglue was less than useless on fabric for me. Just be really careful with the silicone sealant, as it dries clear so will make an irreversible mess of alcantara! Checking in with the to-do list: COMPLETED: Fit bumper plinth Remake personalised plates Hard wire Radar detector Tint glass & roof wrap Repaint rear speaker covers Replace wheels & tyres (twice now!) Fit front lip spoiler Repaint steering wheel plastic Fit K&N intake Fit black fender gills & replace badges Fit ZCP gearknob & alcantara boot GENERAL MAINTENANCE Rear subframe fixed Starter motor reconditioned Spare key remote fixed Gear lever play fixed Bushes replaced Belts replaced Oil release value replaced YET TO DO: - Suspension: I really like the H&R springs, but as it is not a daily anymore I can probably get away with some good coilovers. Thanks to Tom & others, I have every real option under my nose! This one is a longer-term change, when the current shocks are up for replacement. Simply changing the LCAB’s & tyres has completely transformed the handling of the car, so I’ll be holding off any more changes for the meantime until I’m 100% used to it! - Fix rear window tint not sticking to the dot matrix. I’ve asked a couple of those ‘in the know’, and there’s not much that can be done about it. Still undecided whether I’ll just remove the tint completely. Seth has done a very good job of the tint, so it’d be a shame to remove it all. I’m pretty OCD though, so it’ll bug me unless I do something. Hmm. We’ve achieved a fair amount in the past year, and I’m pretty much done with the many-times-modified to do list now …! From here, it’s going to be weekly maintenance & replacing worn parts as and when I come across them. Speaking of OCD, I’m also keeping to a paint protection schedule; wash every week, degrease & wax with Meguiars deep crystal canaruba every 2 months, and a Mothers clay & Meguiars Tech Wax sealant every 6 months. I’m getting this down to a fine art now, and have saved up & spent a fair amount on getting the best product & applicators available. I’ve regularly washed all other cars I’ve owned in the past, but without any real understanding of paint protection, and the paint often scratched, discoloured or faded over time. I’m pleased to say the paint is looking as good as when I bought it from Team Mac last year, here's to keeping it that way!

Fair call, not 'being a dick', simply stating my opinion. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Yikes, bugger that. On another note - Why anyone would buy an M5 to simply potter about the city astounds me. Simple answer is "because they can", I suppose. What a waste of a car.

150kms on a 70l tank, are they THAT bad?!

I'm not sure Beau, I'd say the shipping price would differ between companies. I'm happy to ask a few companies for you if you're seriously considering them - give me a call 021 832 609.

Oh bummer, didn't think of that

That image. Wat. Edit: here you go everyone. No context:

HB mate, remember you're only as old as the woman you feel.

Hi all, These are all fully dried now, so a final bump before I wrap them for long-term storage! Let me know if you'd like a look-see beforehand. Christian

DIY - it's more fun that way! Have a look on YouTube for tutorials on car care - there's some great stuff on there. Search on Matt Farah (from thesmokingtyre and drive) - he has a 2-video series on properly detailing his Corvette that's full of useful information. If you're ever up here in Auckland I'd be happy to help you out mate just give me a call.

All the luck to him, but personally I'd avoid a 20yr-old highly-stressed sports coupe on >200,000kms. Especially one that probably smells like dog. Then there's the asking price... if he's asking just shy of $20k you'd think he'd at least have vacuumed it for the photos.

Very nice indeed! Classy!
-
Silly mistake, paid for it with his car but could've been a whole lot worse. Don't drink and drive, kids.

It's all practice! Looking forward to interior shots! I looked to replace my brushed aluminium trim with CF, however thought it wouldn't give much contrast.

It's quite depressing how little I know about photography. Awesome shots!

I'm not sure if Marc Ellis or Matthew Ridge read Bimmersport.

Having had both, honestly they're much of a muchness. I run a 60k daily round trip with a mix of 100kph and city driving, and have no complaints around wear or failures. They do what they do in an un-dramatic way, for an un-dramatic car. Exactly what I need.

There's a boatyard with a number of sheds on the Kilbirnie end of Evans Bay Pde that had a washing facility, but we're going back a few years now. This was always unmanned after dark. I'll try and find it on Google Maps. Edit: Here it is, although there are now buildings all around that never used to be there... may need verification from a local.

If it's any consolation, I had a set of Supercats on my Corolla, and they were no worse than the other 'comfort' tyres I've used (Interstate Touring IST-1 & Kingstar Road Fit SK70 at the moment). Supercats are also made by Bridgestone.

Evil!! Love the eyelids

Thank you mate. Yep what the Q-man said. Keen to have a look, APT? Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Onya Paul - these parts are not at all cheap, so this is a really generous offer people. Good on you mate. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk

Hopefully they'll make someone's day! Gotta be realistic about the price. Albeit as-new condition, they're still second hand wheels & tyres.

I've given these a good degrease & clean and they've come up like new. Stacked to completely dry at the moment, then I'll pack them up for long-term storage. If you'd like to try them on your car, just let me know.

Good idea re: shipping, planning on bringing back a container by chance? I'd love to go to the US - maybe one day. The surround is quite easy to replace. Had a similar issue with the M5 one, as the surround is a few cm wider in the e39 than the e46.
