Let me know if I'm wrong here, but I seem to recall that firms can quite happily say what they like if there is no quantitative measure, and do not require evidence or benchmarking. 'Quality' in this case seems to be open for interpretation.

An impulse buy on this black E39 facelift.

Wouldn't that be nice....! Looking forward to seeing how the wheels look -
Light silver e46 M3 at Shell/Z Greenlane this morning. You do know they don't have '98 and BP's right around the corner, right? Looked like it had window tints, though can't be 100% sure (was about 50m away). Nice car!

Loving the general shape. Are those wood-marbled A pillars? It does look nice and snug inside the cabin, and those wheels...! Awesome

Hullo Bimmersport. Here's a couple of updates to my 'wish-list'. I've had the car just over six months now, and love it more and more each day. Things done: - Bumper plinth painted & added - Carbon front lip added - Wheels & tyres replaced - Hard wired in a radar Things I'm not doing anymore (or until necessary): - Clutch stop - CSL airbox - Carbon rear diffuser - Replace fog lights with HID - Replace rear shocks - Carbon rear spoiler (sold my one) Things left to do: - Re-cover touch surfaces - Maybe in the future - there are 2 chips on steering wheel plastic, and I'm concerned the driver's armrest may wear in the future as I've seen happen on a few others. - Stonechips - There's not many, but the odd roadtrip has added 3 or 4. I'm pretty fussy so will have it resprayed in the future, and maybe have the front bumper wrapped in clear vinyl. - Install rear window roller-blind and/or get some good quality light tint on the windows - I'm not 100% convinced on either point, so I've left it until I am. - Driver training (in no particular order... I'll get there eventually) Things that've been fixed so far: - Starter motor - Rear subframe - Gear lever play - Spare key remote thing So all in all, not bad! Gas mileage isn't as bad as I initially feared (readout was 16.5l/100kms after the first week) - after the first couple of months this has settled to a healthy 13.5l/100km on '98. I do commute, so there's a lot of stop-start driving. The ride is quite firm around town, but still comfortable, and on the open road it's a riot. The paint is in great shape, and everything about the car feels tight. I'm pretty careful where I leave it, and it's well locked up indoors during the day and overnight, but it still doesn't seem to attract the wrong attention. No pics, as there's nothing really aesthetic to report.

Hi there, is this a Drift Max one? Thanks, Christian

Hello to whoever tooted at me in Albany this morning - e30 (blue?). I was trying to find a gear and a radio station at the time, and squirted my window washers instead of flashing my lights. I did manage to find the horn to toot back, though I think you were long gone by then. The guy in front of me at the lights gave me a dirty look. Well done, Christian. Top form.

Does anyone have a spare 318i/Ti or d badge?
-
Nice car - it looks to be mint! Does anyone know what park light bulbs those are.....??
-
We're gonna need CSI here people.
-
Don't suppose you'd look at 20's?

I heart Mighty Car Mods. Have watched all their vids - great presentation style.

Kinda OT but far out, $2k for a second-hand muffler??!!

Sanderm3 - If you're up in AKL sometime I'm happy to take you for a drive in mine - supersprint backbox, the rest looks standard. Makes a hell of a difference in terms of noise over stock.
-
Welcome. I'm sure we've met somewhere before.

Just read this after posting yet another link to an M3 4-dr on one of your other posts. Fair play, there's a heap you can do to the 330i - just get in touch with the right people from your other posts and work out your budget etc.
-
Just do it!

Looks like you need a cable set, for the M3 version at least. I doubt they'd be far different in theory. Lookey Look Edit: in terms of fitment without the multifunction buttons, have a look here.

Yikes, what a shameless ripoff! Even the photo looks bung. Front and rear wheels different (or turning different speeds?), the ride imbalance between left and right (look at how close to the body the left rear wheel is), and whats up with the 2 layer shadow behind the front right wheel? I could do better in MS Paint.

Thanks very much all - I'm after all options and experience. There's a heap of info in this thread, I've definitely got my work cut out for me! Tom, that's fantastic information thank you. The car is now on 83kms. I appreciate your opinion on the KW stuff too - interesting about the design. I'll do some more homework, read up a bit more on the AC Schnitzers and be back in touch! Westy - thanks - the info in this thread is more than I could've hoped for! I initially figured I could just throw in a set of Koni's but I'd rather get info on the best options from those that know - it's too nice a car to cheap out, and I plan on keeping it for a fair while. Apex - worthwhile opinion thank you - I always anticipated track days and driver training are on the cards, and I intend to keep to this. I've done a bit of both in the past, but in different cars. V3's sound good from what I've read - I initially had the brand confused with NZKW for some reason. Hybrid - good to know what to avoid! Thanks! As it's a daily I'm not looking to go too firm. Thanks again all, I think I'm set. Will update you with my decision.
-
Sure you can. It'd be around the same $ as yours? You may not be tempted to spend even more money modifying it that way either .... Edited: Removed pidgeon English.
-
Copied and pasted to take with me - thank you Hybrid, much appreciated.

Top form, thank you very much. Will call Anthony when I'm ready to replace. Thank you again.
