It's only really what someone wants to pay. I found one on similar k's on TM for $8,800, if that's any indication: '99 328CI. You can pick up a newer 330i (edit, link here) for $7k these days, so it's hard to tell. Hope that helps.

I think it looks great as-is. If you do change the springs, I agree with Mr D in that you should change the shocks too. Chances are they'll be due for replacement anyway.

Spied a mint burgandy e34 540i in GLN this morning. Bloody good to see such a nice original example, after the filth that's been on trademe recently. Also follow a green e34 540i wagon home some days; once again good nick, but if you're on here your left taillight is out. I think I'm going to have to buy an e34.

Sounds like it's had a busy life. Remaining life expectancy depends if it's been looked after. AA check (or similar) is your friend.

This! Check all hoses connected to intake and that they're not blocked or restricted someway. Had the same in my CL9, sounded like it was going to detonate.

E36 It does have the mug well and back deaf auto options though. Adjustable chocks, too! Definitely worth considering.

Short wheel base, RWD and lots of power = 180's! I saw the Z3M race coupe spin into the grass on the straight at HD - didn't seem like it could hold a lot of oversteer!

Your pics have made my screen sizing weird. The old CLS. Wow is it ugly. Looks like the designer just kinda fell asleep after the b-pillar. I'm not disputing their performance capabilities - I've been for a ride in a CLS AMG and it's a rocketship - but damn. Beige, too. Edit: The more I look at it, the more it looks like:
