  1. A wee update. The car has for the passed 3 weeks mostly lived at someones business who shall remain nameless getting a hole, and a crack fixed in the front bumper, followed by a full repaint of the bumper. It turns out the bumper is looking like it will need to be re prep'd and painted, as this business thought they could just repair the bumper damage, and give it a lick of paint. Would of thought any stone chips or scrapes would need to be prep'd before painting a bumper ? The broken piece below is the corner bumper covering which I have ready to install. This is an example of the corner-cutting sh*t-house workmanship done.
  2. I think this is the one that had an underside that could be eaten of, the p/o kept it absolutely flawless. Looks mint, but wheels look a bit too dark for factory shadow chrome... could just be dirty or camera lighting.
  3. How narrow is the driveway? In thos epics, looks like you should be able to use some of the neighbours driveway section coming in on an angle, and then going down your driveway?
  4. No interior shots in those calender pics im afraid ?
  5. Have emailed to see how many calenders can be sent in one hit. Price of Calender is 12USD. Shipping I can possibly get cheaper if I get the calenders sent to my USA address and forwarded here. Will keep you posted.
  6. Details here : http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/322354-view-order-2014-e39-m5-calendar.html A bulk order would be logical if there is enough interest.
  7. Thanks for confirming what my next car is not going to be.
  8. Most definatley doing it right! Nice to see someone not afraid to give one of these appreciating classics a good workout.
  9. If the p/o is cutting corners on tyres, makes you think what servicing or other parts have they skimped on.
  10. Hrmm wonder if that was the same M5 that I was in last October going around the Ring. There were a few close calls during my lap, these things have a lot of understeer driven any thing over 8/10ths around the ring.
  11. My theory is that the FI's are controlled by the ECU, so the ECU, or possibly an aftermarket ecu would need to be programmed to allow the injectors to pulse shorter, or regulate their flow as per the stock injector's. Allowing more air in to the engine (cams, or adjusting cam timing) together with a re-map should definatly give it some more ponies.
  12. No ones snapped this one up yet? Must be the colour haha.
  13. Any one have a spare pair or set of 18" wheels and tyres that will fit the E39 chassis? Just need to borrow whilst i get my rims refurb'd. Will pay in beer or bourbon :-)
  14. Pretty sure I've seen this one being driven by its previous owner a few months back. It looked pretty rough. Could be wrong. Any one viewed it? Would love to install M5 running gear in to it :-)
  15. Probably too hard to convert each and every cars flywheel torque output based on gear ratios? To get the a more realistic flywheel output of torque you need to be in a 1:1 gear ratio to begin with, which i suspect none of us were as it would be spinning the dyno too quickly, and with several hours of that, it would probably cost TP alot more in dyno repairs than what we paid him?
  16. I used a product called leatherique on the black leather of my old 540i. It's not cheap (about $80 or so shipped to nz) from autogeek.net. Works best with alot of heat. Summer is just around the corner. It didnt make the leather glossy, or slippery feeling, which I find the Meguiars and Mothers products seem to.
  17. Is that a 400KW club sticker on the rear passenger window?
  18. Is there a special cleaning procedure required ? Can you just go abouts using the usual leather cleaner/conditioners available, or do you need special stuff?
  19. Got some cosmetic work going on atm to restore the beast to it's former glory. - Booked in to get front bumper repaired and re-painted. Fix up stone chips on bonnet. - Front lower bumper corner coverings on order -Trunk ventilation panels on order (to get rid of the disgusting exhaust smell in the car when thrashing it) - headlight lower trims on order Am currently also trying to get easyDIS with GT1 installed on a laptop so will be able to do some scanning/logging/coding to make sure the car has a clean bill of health. Considering re-locating the IAT so the power delivery is more consistant, but that will come after i'm sure the engine is running as it should. Will post some before and after pics of the cosmetics asap.
  20. Nice work! Looking forward to hearing how the re-paint on the leather holds up over the coming summer months.
  21. I bought a set of bilstein's in from the USA, and used them with m-tech 2 540i springs, the ride was horrible. ECS tuning had a 20% of koni sale, not sure if it's still going.
  22. I'll be installing all the required s'ware for programming and diagnosing the e39 on an old laptop I've found in the next couple of weeks. Diagnostic cable is on order too. I'll let you know if it's possible.
