Hey hey. Welcome to BS. What factory stuff are ya thinking of changing?
-
Ok, ill hold off for pics tomorrow. Sorry for jumping in so quick! Keen still if its what i expect it to be like. If anyone else is game enough to just say theyll buy it, go ahead.
-
Do you have a photo? Does it have the M stripes on it like the one in the pic?
-
Is this a genuine BMW one? Sounds repcoish..
-
Ill give you $20 now. PM'd.
-
E36 or E30? If it's E30 it's sold, if it's in good condition.
-
Do you lose all power or just the tacho? Losing all power is kinda scary.. esspecially when ya on a motorbike, at night time, going down the kaimais, at 130kmh... and hello! Pitch black!
-
Not at all EDIT: Just read news. LAME.
-
Is this the first race with schumacher back?
-
Holidays are mean. I'm driving my E30 down to Wellington next week sometime to see my parents, I should drop by and have a gork.
-
Tomorrow in the light you will be able to find the problem easy as I bet On another note, the z3 shifter and that bushing from Jason are good eh, I just put them in my car when i converted it to manual. Tight as ****. Now I just need a gear knob haha.
-
Interesting. Im just going off what I've been told.
-
If you are losing all power including there stereo and lights etc, check your battery terminals, and the earth for it. I went over a bump the other day and lost all power and stopped, battery had come undone ( because i never did it up haha. ) Rather embarrising but it was a good excuse to use some unnecessary acceleration when fixed.
-
I doubt you bent it. Is your hanger bearing all good? If that is lose it could be flopping about
-
You mean you lose all power? Such as electrics and EVERYTHING. Or just engine power?
-
Nice project. I have actually never read this thread before. It wasn't until today when Jason said he got his new shocks ( which are working mint ) off you that I thought I should have a look lol.
-
Im not sure if this would help but if you split the driveshaft inhalf at any point you have to put it back exactly how it was because they are balanced from factory as one piece.
-
Good.

You guys are on drugs! Got the car running, goes so much better with the manual. But now it doesn't idle. Possibly the auto ecu was messing with the idle, but that is disconnected and its still farked. I'm going to adjust the idle as when the kick down cable was removed it could of possibly slackened it off a bit maybe... who knows.

Just doing a manual conversion. What do I have to do with the wires to make it think it's in nuetral so I can start it? We've done it before but forgotten...
-
Dragon? What is this that you speak of??
-
Ha, and i missed half the stuff to do... to think i did this under a month ago. Jeeeeze. 40 minutes is fast, to allow little mishaps etc etc I'd still allow a few hours for a newbie.
-
Have you done it in 30 minutes? To remove the airbox, driveshaft, undo shifter setup, remove/disconnect wiring loom, undo gearbox mounts, undo engine mounts, set up engine hoist, remove bonnit ( on an e30 ), Im sure i've missed something. Even more impossible I'd say if you were working off axel stands. I'd go with 2 hours at least if you were taking your time, making sure you were doing it right, and only had two people working on it who haven't done it before.
-
Well our plans to do the entire conversion in one night were short lived. I realised I had forgotten to buy the L joint that connects the resivour to the master cylinder... Hopefully have one sorted in the morning. Also decided to go watch all the boyracers at Te Rapa... there were hundreds and hundreds of cars.. including a heap of cops. We have the pedal box in and the auto box out... just need to assemble the rest now. Here are some pics ( for the lolz mainly )

I havent weighed it. It looked like a fair bit, but I think they could of got more off.
