Welding is possible. My sump has been welded, alright job done. It happened before I bought the car and it looks as if the sump was removed because they used trusty old gasket cement to seal it back up and it left a mess.

My mate replaced the gearbox in his car the other day and he put an "entire 2l bottle" of ATF in it and wondered why it wasn't shifting nicely. They take a fair bit.

Not sure what would be best, but any would do I'd say. They take a fair bit of fluid if you have to fill it up empty, perhaps 7litres? not 100% sure.

I am by no means questioning Glenns knowledge of BMWs, why would I do that? He obviously knows a hell of a lot about them and good on him for helping people out. He is a valuable asset. If you got a front cut, they just meant at least you'd get all the parts in one go inc. suspension, engine, everything. Then you have to bolt it all in. Sounds like you would have a busy weekend ahead if ya did that!

you literally just pull your old little black front lip off and push the iS lip onto the clips which held the black old one on. It would take 3 seconds.
