It's true - IIRC you only need FIA seats for a certain level of event or if you remove airbags and want to get an Authority Card and a WOF.
-
I meant that I am probably the only other person to know that the Auto bonnet is desirable!

I wonder if it would be less work/cost to get a set of Mitsi 6 cylinder wasted spark coils and the 3 channel igniter ---> from a v6 GDi I think. Would cost bugger all (I got the 4 cylinder equivalent from pickapart - dual channel igniter and coils - for $34). Or 2x the 3 channel igniters with the BMW coils - basically just looking to cut costs. Its this thing: "Mitsi J723 ignitor module". mops used it on his car:

From carjam: EZM86 2009, May 23rd REKLSS 2007, September 21st ZY1286 2001, March 28th REKLESS - haha, that's awesome.
-
LOL, I am quite possibly the only person reading to think "auto bonnet - awesome!".
-
I just had a quick look online - there is a possibility you will need 6 igniters wired in pairs to the Link (so wasted spark). I am NOT confident about this - I suggest you contact Link directly or try their forum. this is not an easy one. For 6 cylinders you will need 3 ignition channels for wasted spark.

Roger that to black and a white guy - couldn't tell how tall. He was turning off the Symonds St offramp towards town.

I saw a 135i this morning, and it looked like it had a set of these: http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=5606&L=2 Which I thought was kinda pimp.

As I don't plan on going on the track*, when my M3's pads run out I plan on getting OEM again. They are more than adequate for street use and they aren't too aggressive on the disc .... and given the cost of the discs (I have the floating ones since its an Evo) I don't especially want to buy new ones. * at the current time. That's what the race car is for, although since it isn't going I'm getting REALLY itchy to take the M3 out.

Yeah I know - such an awesome timewaster, it seems every article ever is there.

http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/cardata/?cat=hot_hatches Focus 1467kg - It's not that light! Megane 1220kg - that's better (but not good)... BMW M3 (e36) 1515kg - not that I can talk.
-
I bought VDO gauges from eGauges.com - not too bad for price including shipping. Fuel level might be hard, and speedo costs $$$, so you kinda have to really want it. EG: Kit with most stuff: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?Type=I...p;Series=Vision Plus tach: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_mult.asp?Type=T...ion&Units=E I'm not sure of cheaper options.

If I could find the thumbs up smilie I'd give you one of those.

NON BMW's with BMW engines (the right way around)

It's ok to stick Sr20s in a BMW -----> here's a Silvia with a BMW engine: http://forum.savarturbo.se/viewtopic.php?t...p;start=108#top -
It sure is. Those flares are hot.

I saw a very nice green E30 on gold BBS RSs on Albert St in AK city on about Thursday night at approx going home time. I thought I remembered the plate but can't find it on carjam. Was hot. Great combo.
-
I'm looking forward to this on too. LOL, do not believe you. Sportmax wheels and "JDM flair" are not going to be Q-ship or stealthy!
-
Further to that "anything using a cable clutch" doesn't include much!
-
Hmmm, posted only 8 mins ago - do we have action yet, LOL.
-
Oh yeah - you check the oil level when the car is operating temperature and idling. You are checking the level in the tank coz they are factory dry sump. Awesome.
-
You're km don't match the ratios on the third line. I'm sure of it. 1,2,3 from the s16, 4,5 and FD from the 1.6 ---> looks genuinely close ratio Hmmm, maybe consider 3rd from 1.6 too.

Its MS1 V3, I believe. Is the coil driver definitely built into V3, or is it an optional extra (that might not be there)? Coz if its definitely there, it occurs to me the ignitor isn't needed...
-
That works like no ignitor I've ever seen then. Did it run with that ignitor in the previous owner's hands? Or did he use a different ignitor or direct to the coil?
-
Oh, ok - it looks like the wiring for the ignition for V3 is the same as for MS-II though: I dunno how that ignitor works. I'm a simple dude - once the ignitor does more than the 4 connections I mentioned above, plus a tach signal, I start getting confused. (edit) Does it have labelled terminals?
-
Basically, I would expect you have two choices (the way I read it): 1) Your MS has a coil driver built in - you can wire the coil negative directly to the MS as per this: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/vb921.htm 2) Your MS doesn't have a coil driver and you need an ignitor, which connects to the coil negative and to the MS, as well as having its own power and ground: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/Bosch_124.htm
