Fair enough each to their own, I guess I have two types of likings depending on the application. These imo would go nice on larger euro style cars, one obvious reason being their size.
-
Legend creaver id rate her 8/10 wonder why it was withdrawn haha?
-
AMEN! Your car still looks badass tho. MMmmmMMmm
-
Awesome man, they will be roughly the same price as the rest yes?
-
Matt has this from hamilton u would just need a car trailer
-
Damn wish I had some spare cash haha! Jordy is looking for an E30 atm Matt.
-
Not a fan Penry? I'd definitely rep these if i had a 5 or 7 series
-
Haha damn I wanna see this now! Someone must have it cached
-
Well yea thats kinda not how its supposed to be sitting, the guards are sitting on top of the tyres. The rear still needs to come much much lower just gotta get the guards modified (big job) Strange is an understatment id hate it if my car stayed looking like that haha! Yea thats the attitude dude just do it! You can never be completly prepared sometimes you just gotta start somewhere and learn along the way, of course a bit of experience helps. Yea dude I keep my M50 Turbo thread updated under the projects section so just keep an eye out there Where abouts are you located? Have you told your mate to join the forum? He should get on here for sure.

Ah yeap was more interested in the width How long did he have to wait for them to come into the country? Oh nah I bought mine in April dude lol but didnt get the rears on till the weekend as I had my 5stud rear end to put on. I was trying to find mine in 5x120 (BMW 5lug stud pattern) but they didnt make them in it so went with adaptors. Those are probably 7-8" wide they still have descent dish on them for a 4x100 rim, I dear say these will become a very popular rim for those with E30s and love dished rims Cheers Garry, its taking a long time tho haha!
-
Haha whoa Blair, dont think mine quite need tubbing
-
Haha! My rims Whats size are they?
-
Man it will be awesome when I get into our rental shed then! Power bill is covered in the rent $64? Damn you haha im gonna try talk them down a bit Alex lol! I still have yet to had arc eye I actually plan on never getting it haha but seriously I dont find the normal weldings at all too bad.. lol Mike why were you tacking with your eyes shut? hahaha

Yea I had a look at the IE ones on their site they would work but would end up being pretty expensive once shipped here imo. Yea woops haha no travel means no tyre on the road and that would be a problem but yea what is suitable amount of travel? I guess that totally depends on the type of motorsport you are doing. So what set of tyres have you found best for grip so far and at what power at the wheels? Cheers Matt, yea I have had a go at it with the hammer annnnnnd a bolt on guard flaring tool... What is this tubbing of the rear that you guys mention? The M50 sump sits roughly at the same height if not slightly higher than the original motor in my E30 Matt Those rims on the first pic you posted Simon do look very close to what I have, its really hard to tell in that picture tho haha! Some nice examples there though. As Matt said its getting the top of the flare where it meets back up with the rear quater to clear the top of the tyre when it sits up in there. I think im with James and all for the metal flares much more permanent and flush look however, some of those bolt on flares look pretty rad also in some of the above pics! I may even dare to attack the flares myself depending on how much my mate quotes me. He was over 10mins ago and is going to get back to me with a price. And yea that pretty much sums it up Ollie lol! This is new to me, I never used to like a challange but this car has changed that all. I also want to step outside the safety zone and dare to be a little different and try the un-tried I guess? Not that alot of this is really new elsewhere in the world. But yea I think with the right touch like you say Ollie and the time and effort this black beauty or shall I call it a beast? It will come out very satisfactory indeed! Thanks for the very constructive and positive comments guys, your thought are much appreciated as it gauges interests in my head that I may not have thought of! Your a good bunch!

Nick I could be keen on the E30 spoiler lip in the near future. Will wait to see what you get in mate

WHOA Grammar and paragraphs would go a long way dude!
-
Of course you are haha! Good to see your priorities are in teh right order though Henry Lol well thats good cause thats what will keep you motivated to finish it off, I know alot of the things ive done in my project havnt been that exciting to get past but had to be done
-
Ahh I see, thats a handy one too know cheers man! Man I must practice some more, running out of argon though aha.
-
Dunno what VW's are priced like but most likely above the 20k region Some nice done up examples tho Golf Passatt Polo
-
Spose those IE flares dont look half bad, I have BC Gold coilovers which should keep travel to a minimum, what suspension are you running in yours? Got any pics of the 255/40s? What size rim are you running them on? Your car is badass
-
Lol Blair! One would hope that you would learn from the first time I think your car needs some descent suspension revision. When were ur sway bar and trailing arm bushes last done? Prob never... also your rear tyres arnt the widest.
-
That makes two of us Blair lol! Gonna be an intersting experience on the track with no boundaries or laws with a nice powerful car Indecorous - Yea ive had a few people suggest these and i was even considering it but would rather them be all nice and flush and sealed with the rest of the body. Thanks Nath! I need that sway bar off you, text me ur bank details or something dude that will be an excuse for you to come visit blair and me
-
Lol is it really as bad as my friend says? how much difference does it make to the power bill lol? Try $80 odd from BOC on a D sized argon bottle... Other thing i found weird on the argon bottles was the right hand thread normally most gas bottles are left hand thread, Dad told me they are designed like that to stop you from mixing up argon with oxygen bottles lol.

Had a couple of close calls myself kurbs and rims dont go down too well.... nor do wires behind your motor being crushed lol
-
As Hybrid says Emily thats your problem, the lower the profile the less amount of air & tyre side wall between the road and your wheels. When you hit harsh bumps in the road the tyre has less room to compress and the more likely you are to damage your rims and you feel the bumps a whole lot more. However if you have mad stretch but a rather high profile tyre (like on my current rear wheels) there is still alot of room between the road and the rim
