  1. that RB 7 is badass pjay!!! Yea def gonna be down to how the guards are done i think aye, i want the wheels sitting well and truely tucked under without the guards looking too hideous. Yea most people here in NP are drifters Max so no doubt they gonna love it Thanks slay
  2. LOL! That is awesomeness You know I might just have to take that one seriously, bring back an old style.
  3. Finally on their way Henry! be good to see some more progress on the suspension side of things! Hows that sunroof fix coming along?
  4. Hah yea your right Jordy I meant the lever thingy accidents are probably happening to more bimmer owners due to the reason that there are just that many more on the road now at a guess?
  5. Thats right bro! Only let down is the price to run a damn Tig! And only being new to welding a beginner like me tends to use alot more Argon than normal lol. Ive goten past the stage of burning out tungstens now so thats good haha!
  6. Thanks James Haha please do enlighten me Brent? Pretty sure I know what you mean though.
  7. Too true Brent! Maybe I should upgrade to larger wing mirrors also haha
  8. Whoa didnt expect such good replies cheers everyone! as for the few that say its a bit much for ya, I couldnt agree more especially as I get to see it in person. From the photos it doesnt look quite as bad but in real life it sits way to high and it looks a lil excesive but with some lower profile tyres and the guards sorted ut should look awesome I hope. Like James has been saying to me though too much flared guard can look a bit stupid too
  9. Haha thats such a cool slide man! I like it, music suits it perfectly
  10. Lol poor Livi! thats a bit of bad luck all right! What damage did the barrier do to the E36?
  11. Ah so you picked this up Matt! Nice score Does this have the sumpguard on it I forgot? Should save some coin and take it of your hands, take me too long tho haha.
  12. Yea definitely will look the biz John with smaller tyres and guards work, got a mate coming over tonight to quote up the body work for me I made a new thread called 'Mission M50 Turbo gets new Wheels' for the pictures John. Sooo true Alex! Like the amount of work I got done in the weekend was awesome simply because I had a welder readily available. Haha nah I didnt aye only need a normal one for now have too much other things to pay for as well lol.
  13. As some of you know a 5lug conversion was underway on my E30 project. Well over the weekend I sucesfully completed the coversion with the exception of the bad castor problem up front. Keep an eye out for my write up on this conversion Now having such a good selection of rims to choose from, I began the hunt for the perfect wheels for my E30 but was still not happy with what was available. The ever so popular drift rim "Drifteks" crossed my mind and also the awesome looking dotcom racing wheels. I rang a local supplier and to my disappoinment they were only available in the Nissan stud pattern 5x144.3. The salesman sugested that I run a wheel adaptor to convert from the BMW 5x120. to the 5x114., I was not that keen but he insisted I went down and had a look at the new Diezel D1R wheel he had on his shop wall which came in that stud pattern.. The moment I saw the rim, I knew that this was the set of rims which had to be fitted to my E30. I have only bought two sets of rims in the past and both times was never 100% happy with them due to lack of available rims to fit the donor cars stud patterns. Finally I had fallen for a set of wheels that made me cream. I decided I may as well go all out with this new look and ordered a staggered fitment of Fronts 17x9 p35's and Rears 17x10 p35's. Fitting these was another story: BIG PROBLEM!............... but one I always knew would exist with trying to fit such wide rims under those poor small E30 guards! Which won't be existent for much longer. I Have a very clever fabricator coming around later this evening to have a look at what he can do as far as cutting the existing guards off and welding a fresh pair of wider higher rear guards on. I would love to attack these myself with the new welder but would rather leave it to someone more experienced when it comes to body work such as this. The fronts may also need slight modification but are not near as bad. John (FrantiC) suggested maybe lathe down the rear spacers as they are 25mm thick, however im happy with the track width its just the height that the car sits at in the rear which makes me want to spew, the guards are literally sitting on top of the rear tyres. Any ideas or constructive criticism is welcome. Luke
  14. Cheers John Lol I think you will win as you know with the state of my rear wheels now! gonna need some vast modification those guards heh!
  15. Mean John! Thats looks very intimidating just chilling there next to that M20 progress is satisfying huh!
  16. Yes another teaser I know wont be long now till I have and actual video of it boosting hopefully lol
  17. Oh man would have loved to take this of your hands who bought it in the end?
  18. Im pretty sure p35 offset is the way to go without any guard mods etc? Not to sure on that one though.
  19. The only difference as I am aware of are the front lower control arms having more forward castor and of course 5 stud all round. You will be able to retain your rear shocks and springs however the fronts you will need to use the E36 shocks and springs Brent has available and swap the front strut tower hats from your e30 shocks onto the e36 shocks. Also you will need E36 M3 front lower control arms or have your E30 ones substantially modified by a wheel alignment outlet.
  20. WHOA! I think this project needs to be moved to the NASA section Henry Amen Riley & Max
  21. Must also agree with the others here Matt, I could go tech II along with everyone else but I also think a stock FL can look pretty badass.. if anyone can pull that off its you sir!
  22. Oh thats good haha I was thinking that would be a bit OTT! Yea Matt for sure next time im up that way ill bring the tig haha Maybe after shes painted your Dad will be a little more appreciative of this beast
  23. Agreed However would you paint the trims that go up the center pillar on the doors the same colour as car? Would look funny wouldnt it? Id leave those trims black regardless.. just an idea..
  24. Nothings ever as straight forward as you would hope for John trust me on that one, no pain no gain Things always work themselves out.
  25. Where do you live Cam? Andre ill tax his front control arms and you can have the motor and gbox
