Placement of O2 Sensor
Boost Junky replied to Boost Junky's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Yea thats what I was aware of also Henry, so where your saying would be roughly 2-3ft from the turbo. I know they are good for upto 500 deg so that probably makes sense. Lol yea I was too cold to be on the computer any longer Thats another good point Glenn I always forget to ask him which make the most sense.. hardest person to get hold of on the face of the earth though haha Thanks guys! -
Lol that big ford ute drifting! Mean Whats under the hood of that GT40 Chris? Haha was that your brother Shelly? I remember his escort rather well due to its nice sounding dog box I could hear coming into the pits all the time! Both Blair aka. _BRS_ and I were support crew in this even on the weekend 10 cars didnt finish.. Thats an early escort I think James... prob wrong tho lol..

Hey guys, have done some googling too find out as much as I can about placing my O2 sensor in the correct place on my downpipe. From what ive collected I should not place it on the bottom of the pipe as it will be more likely to collect moisture, also ive read 1ft back from the turbo? Obviously this will only affect my light throttle driving but will also play a big part on my tuner being able to get the car base tuned and idling right etc? Correct me if im wrong as im still learning the gst of these gadgets

Good effort henry! Looks like we both had fun with a grinder today

That would be your driveshaft coupling, think i mite replace that and hanger bearing too when i go for my cert. Sweet sounds like you only have minor things like me to do. Me and a friend made my downpipe up today ended up having to undo the steering arm to get the downpipe on and off, bugger! Heres the photos of my modified fuel rail for you: As you can see on the end of the fuel rail here the factory fuel pressure regulator has been cut off then we just blanked the end of the fuel rail off with a piece of steel and welder, then we just welded the return fitting back onto it. This will now have the return line going over to my Rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Hope that helps, you could weld on an AN fitting ther instead of the old factory pipe fitting as you are using AN fittings correct?
-
Awesome man! What you got to tidy up? Got all my AN fittings form an outlet next to my work called USA specialty products. Would have now roughly spent about $350 - $400 on lines and finttings. Yea not bad aye just doing exhaust tommorow and then out to the tuners then just gotta make my wheels fit in the guards lol! I got my fuel rail back if you need a photo of how I set mine up? Luke

Muahaha that is awesome! I want that reaction lol. Never know Blair soon maybe mine will acomplish that, your dads keen to see what mine goes like knowing my Dad even if my car was 1000hp he would subtly sit there and say 'oh yea that goes well'...
