  1. Its an E39 540 Getrag 420g. Fly & Clutch kit I've installed is the JB Racing part#520-155SK-B413 it could be a little heavier (lost a little low end torque) but pulls like a school boy. Wiki applications; 1996-1999 BMW E36 M3 (Euro) 2001-2006 BMW E46 M3 1988-1995 BMW E34 540i and M5 1996-2004 BMW E39 540i and M5 1995–2001 BMW E38 7 Series 1989–1999 BMW E31 8 series 2000–2003 BMW E52 Z8
  2. Go single mass flywheel, there's a few off the shelf options or you could have one made Lionel (kiwi328i) had one made. I've replaced mine with a single mass JB Racing unit its a vast improvement. The old one was shot and went to scrap.
  3. Thanks Andy, I should have done this years ago! As others have already said appreciate the effort you've put in to do this over the years. cheers Matt
  4. Its all simple supply and demand, generally home ownership in NZ is relatively affordable, just not in Auckland. Adding to what Nick said, NZer's have expectations beyond our means, we've had it very easy for a long time (when compared globally). We do live in one of the best countries in the world, something that is all too easy to take for granted. We've recently got back on the property ladder with a 3 bed, 1/4 acre (1180m2) section, recently renovated, heat pump, log burner, heat transfer thingy and 2x three bay garages. $350k. We're an average 75min drive to AKL CBD (best was 44 min worst 2:20). Most of my work is in Auckland and the travel is a negative but we would't get anything comparable (in a decent school zone) for what we paid. Have a rural outlook, even have dairy cows dropping calves in the paddock next door. We probably won't see any significant gains in value but didn't purchase for that. It a home and by my standards fairly nice at that. Just need time to fill the sheds with toys......
  5. Good stuff mate, hopefully all in for the next meet?
  6. Be keen to hear your impressions, fingers crossed...
  7. Parnell Rise a little after 5pm yesterday.
  8. Does anyone have a couple of ACS Type 1, 81/2 x 17, ET13 they would like to sell? cheers Matt
  9. Lesson learnt! Seems to be no damage to the car, just a bit pissed off. Definitely be going the pre-booked parking at the terminal next time. Interesting most of them suddenly couldn't speak English when confronted...... Got a call from the manager/owner offered the $36 fee back.
  10. Dropped off at their depot.
  11. I recently went to Wanaka for a few days sking. Unfortunately I was a little disorganized and couldn't leave my car where I normally would, so took my chance at finding a park and ride facility that could do the dates I needed. The first 2 places I called were booked out or couldn't do the full date range, Park N Fly had space so I dropped the car in and jumped on the plane for a few days sking. As a precaution I always get a few photos of the car and the odometer. Upon returning and picking up my car I checked it over noticing the odometer has an additional 5ks on it (took a photo as proof), bit of further checking and notice gear in the boot has all been chucked around and the stereo is on a non-programmed station (was on BT audio to my phone when I left). It is only 5ks but it is the breach of trust that pisses me off! Park N Fly are saying they needed to move the car a couple of times and are basically denying and wrongdoing on their part. I've notified the Police so any traffic offences etc won't be my responsibility. Unfortunately there seems to be buggar all that can be done, this leaves bad publicity the only option to get any sort of reprisal! So if your flying anywhere and wish to use a parking facility where you have to leave your key, be warned! Please re-post any where you can and pass this on to as many people as possible. P.S. The sking was awesome!

    Nice Jooles, best colour!
  14. I can confirm The Strand is a State Highway. I spend months arguing with Auckland Motorways (administers motorways within the Auckland City limits) and Auckland Transport to gain approval to erect scaffold over the footpath at the Saatchi & Saatchi building. The process was typically bureaucratic like anything involving public agencies that don't talk to each other. I won!

  20. Does anyone on here know this car? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=698592282 Seems to have 'lost' 39012 miles in 2010-2011 according to carjam?
  21. I've replaced mine with the JB Racing kit clutch kit, part # 520-155SK-B413 goes well. Some noticeable differences from the dual mass unit: rev's significantly quicker, bit of loss in torque, idle isn't as smooth as it was have had to wind it up a bit. Ideally I'd say for a street driven car its probably on the light side, but hey its a V8 RWD manual.....
  22. Out front needing a clean and a thrash drive.
  23. This setup may be even better having the option of adjustment. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1303-racing-dynamics-sway-bar-set-e34-525i-530i-535i-540i-m5.aspx Just shy of NZD800 plus Customs and GST on landing, say $1k all up to your door. cheers Matt
