E34 M5 with half a million km's (well, almost)
Driftit replied to tobytoblerone's topic in General Discussion
Seen a few Corollas with over 500,000kms that were still on the original motors. Were 24/7 delivery cars in the UK. 500,000kms on a Taxi is far less impressive than 500,000kms on a personal vehicle only used for personal millage over the years. -
FS: Custom German/Europlates ORDERS NOW CLOSED - Last Order Before Chr

They used to supply the plates in the NZ format. But were slapped with legal warnings from plates.co.nz. Which I think they can ignore as the plate formats are NOT owned by plates. I only just got my plates onto my car this morning. The officer I was dealing with at the North Shore police station thought it was a joke that I could have my plates taken off me when they are of the quality they were. He did not think very highly of the road police department. So in the end was a great help. VTNZ in the end with the help from the Police allowed me to change straight to my unused Personalised plates. So no cost. But now that my BMW has been picked on I think it best to get the real deal Euro plates or stick to the stock ones. -

Yeah I shouldn't have that problem. I think the little E30 would struggle a bit with the E34. Haha BTW took it for a hoon last night. Love it. -

If they were not such a ripoff I would be happy to purchase legit ones. The plates that were taken were just Gov issued ones. FWY152. I will be putting on my retired DRFT IT ones. Will get them remade into Euro length next year for the $300. Oh and after work I am going to get a police report so I can get plates on my car. If you tell NZTA/LTNZ/Post Office they were stolen you also need a police report. -

I will be demanding the plates back as I figure they are personal property too. I think they have to have a suspicion of misuse for them to be removed. Does anybody have any links or info on this situation. And what the cop is actually allowed to remove from your vehicle? As far as I can see the Police are now unwittingly helping a private organisation continue with its monopolistic business model. You know. We are the only ones allowed so lets charge what the F we like. This is what Plates said about my query into why their plates are so expensive to have remade. Sorry guys. I already have life time entitlement for my plate. And manufacture costs no more than $12 per plate. -

Just had mine taken off me today. The argument with the cop was a laugh. Apparently hundreds of gas thieves buy their plates from Germanplates.com so they can steal petrol. Yeah Right. Therefore anyone with these plates is a criminal who steals gas. Rather than someone trying to avoid the monopolistic prices that plates.co.nz charges. There will be fines and demerits from now on. They are doing another crack down. So now I am stuck with no plates. I tried to get new ones this morning. But can't as I have nothing to surrender as the cop took mine. I don't have the original ones. Never have. Looks like it is time to be ripped off by plates.co.nz -
Wish my ones paint was that mint.

Pit Stop Grey Lynn or Pit Stop Albany. Owned by a good mate of mine AJ. Is also on this forum. Recently built a 1UZ V8 E30.

Also NZpost have their own service now. And for bigger items use kiwishipping.co.nz (Mainfreight)

They are also very strick on Turbos. All turbos must run in A class. Even if they are low powered. Only a handful of Turbo BMW's that can run.
-
Bit of research to do. Been away from Turbos for a while now.

Ah right. I have purchased Milans E34 535 race car. Will be building a new turbo M30 for next season. Milan had originally planned to do the same. This is why he put the new injectors in. For now I think I will just put the old ones back in and get the tune checked. The MAPECU covers everything I want from an ECU.

I have a whole E39 mirror with mint glass for the driver side if you want it. $50. Is black. Purchased it for my old E39 540 and never used it. I'm on the shore these days.
-
Just picked up an adapter. Have had them running before many years ago. But it was one we made so I will try this one off trademe. I think I will swap the injectors back for now. No point them being in there anyway as they will be installed in the new motor to be built. Interested to see what this little ECU can do. You get a lot more for you money these days that's for sure.

Welcome. There is a metric poo ton of Bimmersport members on the shore. E30's are everywhere, especially in Torbay, Browns Bay and Milford.
-
Yeah cheers I have been reading through it all. Just waiting for a laptop with a express card slot so I can plug it all in. Serial is such a pain in the ass these days. I should be able to dial it back so it is not just flooding itself.

First time I have had a play with software like this. My new race car has one installed and has already been tuned. But the injector size has been increased to cover the extra fuel the Turbo is going to require. However the car is staying NA while I build a turbo motor so I can race in the mean time. Anyone know if you can easily decrease the amount of fuel being pumped in without having to alter the entire fuel chart? I just need to get the car to idle as it is just dumping fuel at the moment. Need to get the motor up to temp so I can crank the head bolts again. Then off to the tuner.

So I was checking out houses to rent on Google Street view. I found this. Lucky for you it is partially obscured.

If I had the storage I would snap it up. So cheap.

For E30's it does not matter where they are from. It all depends on how they have been looked after and what specs they are all these years on from their day. UK/SAF ones are usually the higher specd cars. Kiwi ones are usually the most looked after. Jap ones are nearly all poorly specd. Model determines if it is worth anything though. From top to bottom.

No don't need an Mtech one. Just a standard bumper. Is for my race car. Mtech is not allowed. Great price though. Sold one of my Mtech kits which was in fact on this race car for $900 a few years back.

It's not the one owned by the young Asian guy who spent thousands through Evans having his spray can paint job fixed up was it? Overspray EVERYWHERE. That was black and orange. But might have been a Turbo not a GT3

In the Auckland area please. Txt or call on 0211887733 Cheers, Dan

My old PFL 325i and Jap 320i had those under bonnet trims Josh. Yet my M325 is missing them. Anyone with an M325 not have power steering like me? I am glad it doesn't but my Mrs hates it.

Pit Stop Grey Lynn and Albany are owned by a good mate of mine Aj. He recently put together that Lexus powered E30 in the Projects thread. They know their stuff. And for any exhaust work I would not go anywhere else. And I fully agree that if your out of town and in trouble a Pit Stop store would be a good bet. I see heaps of those voucher deals being used. Makes it really simple for people who have not time or no idea.
