  1. Hah, it's a deal, and if I win, I'll give it to you!
  2. I just got the xdelete app for this, you can now select RWD only, AWD Sport (RWD heavy biased), Snow XDrive and custom AWD ratios. In RWD mode its basically a lifted F10 M5! Also put in brand new Bosch ignition coils all round. The app is keyed to this vehicle (and cost like $160) so sold with it.
  3. As per title just needs to be working!
  4. I relayed this and my wife simply said "he is correct though.." lol
  5. FYI, been offered $17k, which Id let it go at, but told potential buyer Id wait a week (and Im putting in all new ignition coils in meantime anyhow), so any offers above that?
  6. Yeah it blows my mind that people ask the same or more for some (not all of course) 3.0d and 50i versions yet new these are like 50-80% more expensive. Suppose the X5M and X6M doesnt have the same appeal as the M5, as the M5 of a model tends to maintain some distance from a 530d for instance.
  7. Its actually me that selling it, forgot to post here earlier! https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=5015937568 Its a monster of a thing. Only selling as Im hoping to put money towards an i8. Full service (plugs, oil, filters) and new rear, premium (Arnott) air suspension. No reserve, accepting bids form $17.5k.
  8. A 4.6is would be amazing in that chassis with a manual, what a great idea!
  9. Hah, I think I mentioned to you on there before I had an 850CSi but would go manual 840i msport given the choice again!
  10. I brought in an 850CSi too (2013), from Ireland. Fjord Grey with light grey interior. Sold it for $38k about 6yrs ago now. It was blowing smoke (known to seller, had compression check, slipped rings) when sold and unfortunately on the trip to its new home the engine seized due to lack of oil (he burned that much of it on the trip home, it was topped up before sale). I don't think its yet made it back onto the road. Why would it need a bare metal respray in your opinion? Personally, I wouldnt pay anywhere close to $50k as presented, but I guess we shall see. PS: All CSi's are manual! 😛
  11. There were two, this one maybe around $9k: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/68863-e53-x5is-a-rare-beast/ And the one I was following on Trade Me got bit up to $7.5k I think. Which to me suggests and older, smaller engine (I know its more special but still) 4.6 with more K's is something like a $5.5 to $6.5k proposition not a $10k one, personally.
  12. I was looking at it too... but its like $3k and thousands more k's than the later 4.8is recently sold for. I think its like double the price it should be, IMO.
  13. Aside from the exhaust tips, Id say it is pretty tasteful. Those are an eyesore though and bit silly on a baby engine BMW.
  14. That looks well cared for, really nice, GLWS, looks to have good interest in auction already!
  15. Hah, oh its definitely plenty, I imagine you are just riding torque waves between gear changes! I had a 535d Touring and a 335d coupe myself back in the day. Turbo seals eventually went in the 335d, the 535d never had engine problems just all the other e61 gremlins!
  16. Nice! 375hp is absolute top end, probably the highest Ive seen, on this lump though, any concerns or tweaks to help it survive?
  17. I had an 850CSi for about 7 years. I even brought it to NZ from Ireland with me. Always miss that car, ironically however what I think would infact be a better car to drive would be the 840i with a 6speed manual. Unfortunately, they are actually rarer than the 850CSi was!
  18. Good summary there Jun. We have a Tesla Model 3 for a few years now, tested both the I4 and IX3 and even the IX (much nicer in person than I thought it would be). Would love any of those BMW's (or an I5!) but the price performance is simply miles off on the BMWs. Miles and miles and miles. Saying that, you can negociate massive discounts at the dealers on the BMWs, the Tesla's are already aggressively priced and cannot be negotiated (or even traded in against unless you like to burn money) at all.
  19. I also look into this exact thing from time to time. I leaned on buying a complete car in the UK (or whereever) and parting it as the best chance of success. You can use Picclick to look at all eBay sites worldwide to get an idea on engine only pricing. FWIW, my brother accepted a $16k trade in on a 2001 E46 M3 Manual in Oz 2yrs ago. Ive seen engines going for that now.
  20. Got an injector from Brent... now stuck trying to get this POS original injector out. Completely seized in there, Im afraid will or have damaged things around it trying to get it out. Literally no one or place in Wellington has a slide hammer to buy.
  21. Well I had no reason to do a compression check from a drivabilty perspective. And don't have the tool. But yeah good point. Was fine beforehand, only clue was that spark plug. Several brittle original crankcase lines broke during the process which is causing other or similar issues too.
  22. I think nearly all these piezoelectric bmw injectors are the same. One of my cylinders (2010 X6M) constantly soots up and it's not the coil. CEL and misfiring. I posted in the maintenance section. I've got index 7 of this part number. 13538616079 Anyone got a index 10 and below known working version to sell?
  23. New to me, bought an X6M 2010 (S63 original engine, ie not TU), swapped out the original plugs (Bosch, M branded!) for the NGK version thats one range cooler (as recommended practice for the S63). When removing the original plugs all looked fine bar one, it was black and sooty. Now the same cylinder (6) is black and sooty and I can feel a misfire plus OBD picks up one on Cylinder 6. Car now in limp mode and CEL on. Since I swapped out the Coil already (no difference) I assume this is a bad Fuel Injector? Its running Index 7 all round. Any thoughts?
