  1. ^yeah i feel your pain... my latest e30 has got me stranded it fair share of times too, something to do with blowing apart right rear tyres. and mysterious flat batterys.. My race car would hardly run the other day, it went from kelson to almost at interpart before it would go over 3000rpm, paul thinks its because something under bonnet got wet. said he had simillar problem with geoffs car, can only asume its the afm thats the problem
  2. as said above, either air leak or tps or afm or iac valve. if its not hunting too bad and cleaning sh*t doesnt fix it i would just wind that throttle plate screw up a lil. thats my 2c
  3. ^yeah it depends on the price and how much to rebuild etc... thats what paul quoted me but i will take me several weeks to gather that much so i was just fishing around for 2nd hand.
  4. Hey guys, need some rear shocks as the ones in my racecar are totally farked. they are currnetly 3 stage adj konis but i want to upgrade to race series spec. Any condition will be considered as i can get them rebuilt. anyone have any second hand ones? i can source new but student budget makes that a tad pricey. please pm me if you have anything or text me on 02748392222
  5. yes if you have the 4 stud manifold, if not i can supply you the manifold to fit. note you will also need to make up some kind of rear mount. easy to do.
  6. to continue the wiper issues. my wipers stick when on intermittent, they will move like 10cm accross the screen, stick for a second, move another 10cm and so on, if i put it onto second speed its all good. anyone know why?
  7. its definatly an air leak somewhere, just pull off the intake elbow and go through and inspect all your hoses and joins, sometimes they can crack and you dont notice until youtake a good look, also try spraying that spray around where the manifold joins to the block, also check that injector you replaced isnot leaking as sometimes the orings dont get used again.
  8. whats required to make them work on an e30?
  9. next to nothing. will all bolt on, will just need to fab up a mount for the rear which will probs cost like $40 at an exhaust shop.
  10. for an m6.. ofcourse not. i would do the same
  11. For sale, e30 twin exhaust, Inc factory manifold, 2x 2" pipes with 2 cobys in front and 2 cobys at rear. (4 cobys in total.) came off my 325i, sounds good, quite loud and very lumpy sound. good for a race car or a loud street car. has never drawn attn from police. I have no pics as it is still on car but you dont really need pics anyway. PM me or get me on 0274839222. Looking for around $80
  12. yeah you gotta watch those holden techs..... Just aswell i did my time with ford.
  13. just get ethrty320 onto it with his anglegrinder buff and it will be good as new?
  14. stay with obd2. its easy to put in aslong as you get the engine, loom, computer, imobiliser module, imobiliser transponder and the key from the same vehicle. and not just part of it..... you have to fit the e34 6cyl sump, dipstick, you also have to tpeice the dipstick for a crankcase breather hose iirc. make sure it is infront of either a getrag 260 gearbox or an e36 gearbox, the getrag 240 will bolt up but not as strong. would recomend getting custom extractors made as the factory ones will need to be modified to fit and they are very restricted. you will also need to either get a e36 power steering rack and pump etc or adapt your power steering lines to fit the e36 pump. thats all i can think of off the top of my head
  15. rough???? it hasnt broken yet......
  16. ^yeah i guess it depends on weather you can get the bulbs cheaper elsewhere, i would pay that much if it was the only place to get them
  17. seems like alot of money for 2 bulbs imo. if i were you i would check out d*ck smiths etc for some cheaper substitutes.
  18. ..... ummmmm no.. i dont really know what you mean there mr fox. but i dont doubt he is a nice guy and i doubt there is any reason not to trust him.
  19. ....... Mabey his headlights where too close together and they didnt like the look of him......
  20. to extend on what i said before, as said above weather it is a write off or not would be the call of the repairer and insurance, from my experience replacing airbag systems has been no more that a few thousand. the modules range from $300 to $800 depending on vehicle. and airbags a couple of huny each, quite a time consuming job to do as you will have to test every part of the system and circuits to identify any faults and see what needs replacing. then you will have to programme the airbag module to the vehicle. and test all of the circuit again to ensure there are no more faults. Unfortunatley for you mate is that just about every car is almost completely reliant on electronics and has been for the last 10 years. I think you just got unlucky as this is not something that happens every day. manifactures do everything they can to prevent false deployment and failier of airbag systems due to the possible damage or harm that could be caused. although it is not uncommon for a wiring loom to be rubbing somewhere, mabey under the seat and cause some wires to short together and i guess it is possible that mabey 1 out of 1000 times you may just short the wrong wires and bang. to me a short seems like the most logical cause but i cant really say without seeing and testing the car. but regardless of that you would replace the blown airbags aswell as the module anyway. just for safety sake.
  21. something is badly wrong there. under normal circumstances the deployment of an airbag requires 2 switches to activate. one in the front or side of car depending on the airbag, this is an impact switch, as well as the impact switch a deacceleration switch (usually a pezio crystal) inside the airbag module has to trigger, this only triggers at a negative gforce which is only achieved in decent crashes. so for the airbags to have deployed like that there must be a short circuit somewhere putting power to the airbags.... this is very dangerous and although it would not write off the car it will be expensive to fix so definatly get it checked under warranty. and in response to the above i doubt it would be a write off, mabey a couple of k to fix but not a right off. there will be a fault in the wiring loom somewhere is suspect so it will be new module, new airbags and complete checkover of the loom. i doubt there is anything wrong with the impact sensors
  22. marcos mantis....... ahh now that brings back memories of when i was a wee lad.....
  23. ^ that has to be one of the most pampered cars on b.s....but its looking good nath. all your hard work and countless hours is paying off.
