i know this has been brought up before but has anyone had any sump bafels made in welington area and does anyone have any designs and blueprints?
-
yeh that was the plan. wasnt going to waste my time trying to plumb it back in. just wasnt sure if it would mess with the engine running having the crank case venting to air. just one other thing. will my oil return line be ok plumbed into top of sump?
-
will have to go after market oil cooler as the factory one wont fit past the manifold. hopefully the current radiator will be ok. i spoke to mike with the 318it he left the vacume advance and the brake booster etc as it all is so i might try that to start with. i will be getting a link but not just yet. the factory fuel pressure regulator should be fine for my needs. and aparently someone has run 21psi on a standard m20 motor and aparently was quite reliable too

already got bucket seats in it. factory oil cooler wont fit round headers. will have to go aftermarket and will be looking into radiator but want to get it running 1st

check out driven performance. cost me 460 to my door

so. where to start?? have had a big soft spot for drifting for a long time now. and i want to get in to it properly so i started this project. i am a aprentice mechanic so money is not on my side but on the other hand i can do most of the work myself. ive got a 1985 325i. after blowing a big hole in the side of the old engine i decided to put in my freshly rebuilt m20b25. its got new rings. re honed bores. new bearings. new seals. new valve seats. new valves new bearings. and all the standard stuff you get with a rebuild. (note as this time a turbo was not planned). then went in the new suspension. bilstien front struts on king springs. and adjustable koni shocks in the rear with king springs. nolothane bushes ect planned soon. the suspension complimented the brake upgrade previously done when i got the car. (evo 4 front brakes with a front rear adjustable biast). took one of my spare diffs to work oneday and gave it the welding treatment. its not in the car yet. going to wait untill i have the cert before i put that in. and then when i destroyed the other motor i knew i had to find a way to make lighting it up just as easy but without ringing the nuts off my new motor. thats when the turbo poped up. i researched and saw a few guys doing quite simple and not to costly set ups so i thought. why not? now untill i have the available funds i plan to run it on the ljet system which was already in the car. it has a 323 computer. but still runs the motor quite rich so i dont see it being a real issue. to compliment the turbo i will be installing holden 5l injectors. to minimise the risk of melting my pistons. i have ripped out as much of the unnessacery stuff as i can. cold start gone. crank case recercilation gone. will be venting it to a catch can. have already done the basic weight reduction. managed to get myself a sharp deal on headers and a turbo. here are some pictures of where im at at the moment. have a factory gsr intercooler on the way and will be running around 6psi

how long did that last for? one run of the strip?
-
what size oil catch can do i need for a m20b25 turbo?? and how would you go plumbing it in? as i here its not done the standard pipe into the can and block off the throttle body way???
-
no real budget as such but want to keep it reasonable. and i dont know what the components are but the sub sais bazuka on it
-
got a e46. 2002, has factory head unit with cd stacker in boot. has components in the front and a 10" free to air sub in the back speaker shelf. there were 2 lanzar ampd built into the back of the back seat when i got it. wich sounded poo. so i ripped them out and replaced with my 4ch panasonic amp. sounds heaps better but not enough. what can i do to get a better sound and a louder sound? and what would be the first things to change?
-
imo i would stick with the m20 engine. there bloody strong motors and have alot of potential. a set of forged rods and pistons. metal head gasket. o ringd block. maby stonger crank and a few other bits and peices and it would easily be good for 400hp and like 20psi or something silly
-
if its anything like the m20 motor the only leads you can use are genuine ones. unless there stuffed i wouldnt worry about them. as for spark plugs just go to bnt or repco or somthing and they should be able to tell you what it needs. dont need anything flash. just new ones will be fine. mr bmw has got his ignition pretty well set up. you realy need to be concentrating on intake and exhaust systeming really. give your engine the standard oil change as you would. dont put to thin a oil in. maby 10w or something. as for tranny unless its graunching or hard to get gears i wouldnt mess with it. maby put a lower ratio diff in. that will give you more acceleration. other than that just do your exhaust. headers and decent pipe will make a decent difference

na not chipped i just need a key code to get one cut. or can i get a lock smith to match one to the door barrel?
-
was going to make my own if i felt the advatages were worth it. what exactly does it acheive over your standard pedals?
-
tried them. they as usefull as tits on a bull
-
has anyone made a pedal box for there e30. and if so what are the advantages over a standard pedal box?
-
ohh buger. so how will i go about getting a new key for the e30? i have no other keys for it
-
would be very keen as i have lost the key for my e30. luckily its unlocked. where can i find the key code for it?????
-
bump... all offers considerd
-
if its still under waranty i would be rolling on down to bmw
-
heya guys. got a e46. its a n42 engine. 2l 4 cyl. i need the ruber gasket that goes between the oil filter housing and the block. anyone?????
-
probably not as the door will be longer and thus possibly changind the width of the regulator
-
wouldnt mind the fuel smell myself. would save me having to get air fresheners. well would be nice in the e30 not so much the 46
-
does that inc rods and pistons for that price?
-
also check the connections of the leads. and is it a constant miss or only in certain circumstances?
