  1. When does this noise occur? is it all the time? at certain revs or under certain acceleration/deacceleration loads? Things to check: Coil ( although this usually results in a missfire under load or high revs.) Injectors (weather they are opening properly or if the spray is correct. also check plugs etc.) Intake air leak. Faulty sensor, ie crank position, throttle position or afm plugs, leads, dizzy, rotor, spark advance (depending on what style of dizzy it has.) Fuel pressure and flow contamination of sparkplugs Air fuel ratio tappets cam timing
  2. can do the loom if its a motronic 1.3 your after. pm me if your interested.
  3. If you're not willing to spend $45 on a scan dont bother trying to fix the problem. You WILL just waste money fixing this and replacing that because someone said thats what happened to them, or you have a "sneaky feeling" and you Will end up going round in circles. Sorry i dont mean to be rude but ive seen it too many times where people have just started fixing and replacing bits with no real idea of what the problem is, and realistically $45 is not much money to spend if it leads you straight to the problem (which it more or less will.) Especially if you are considering replacing the the module of a cost of perhaps a couple of hundred dollars as people have been suggesting with no idea if this is the problem at all.
  4. I would be seriously supprised if you did that and not bend a single suspension arm or wheel, best bet is to put it on a hoist, visually check for anything thats bent or been hit and replace it. Once youve done that get a wheel alignment done and balance the wheels, this will tell you if anything else is bent or if a wheel is bent. The other option of course is sell the car and buy a pushbike..
  5. It sounds like some kind of electrical problem to me, something like a loose earth or sticky relay etc.
  6. Hey guys, after some lowering springs for the front of my e34 540i. Only want fronts but will buy a set if the price is right. what has everyone got?
  7. im pretty sure cutting and welding wont work as i believe its made of spring steel, (i could be wrong about that though.) Just take it out and try it. See how you think it handles and if you think it needs something made up.
  8. it does make a difference, how much you feel it will depend on how hard you are driving it, and wether its a good or bad difference will depend on your shock/spring setup and how you preffer the car to feel. No rear swaybar will make the rear feel slightly softer as it will roll a little more through corners, however this also reduces rear "twitchyness" mid corner and makes it much more progressive when oversteering, if thats your thing.

    Red bull

^the tort of nuisance's biggest flaw... As with button i wouldn't say it was purely down to the mac car. (im sure even shue would be crap in teams such as Honda and BAR.) I believe he is a very skilled driver, and on par with the other front runners for years but has just never had that competative edge from a performing car. However i would not go as far as to say he is anything super compared to hamilton, vettle, etc...
  10. running one is not esential, us e30 series guys arnt alloud to run one and our cars go round ok. what exactly do you mean when you say you have a "custom" rear end? if it is just a 325i rear end there should be no contact issues.
  11. torque wrench and angle guage, feeler guages to reset tappets when you put it back down, the head shop usually do this however it has been known to move when bolting down the head, and possibly a torx socket set.
  12. also have this problem which i need to get onto fixing, does anyone know if the arms are expensive? as i have a feeling i need a new arm too.
  13. i dont suppose you have any outlets or contacts in wellington?

  20. Hey guys, getting some wheels made up for my e34, can anyone tell me the offset of a 15" e36 steel wheel? And how much will i need to space it before it will physically bolt up to the hub without touching the shock? (rubbing when turning doesnt matter.) i know that e36s use a 35-45 offset and the e34 a 15-25 offset. but i have not yet found out where in that range the e36 steel wheels are and if anything higher than a 25 will fit an e34. Any help appreciated. Cheers Oli
