Bump, If anyone wants one now would be the time to speak up, there is one on trademe and one more to go. They are moving fast.

there will be a short somewhere, it will either be like andy said in the trailer wiring, if not it will either be a constant power wire that is shorting with the lights power wires and earthing through the lights earth, or the lights earth may be faulty causing something that shares the same earth to send the power back up the earth of the lights, through the bulbs and earthing somewhere else. best place to start is check continuity between the negative side of the bulbs and the body with the igntion off. then work back down the positive side (with ignition on but with the switches for the lights turned off) until you find the point where the power is being introduced.

I have a 540i It has the motorsport kit, bbs wheels etc so looks nice. Goes like a cut cat... Solid as a brick Handles extremely well as it feels so balanced. (much more than e30s are.) Im a student and i can afford to run it. DDOOOO IITTTTT

Ive just picked them up. They are now going on trademe so if you want one now is the time to say so.

If its both then it will be either the master cylinder or something that pushes the master cylinder, ie the brake pedal, or linkages. Try just cracking off the bleed nipples on the callipers, (dont touch the pedal) and see if that frees it up. then do them back up. (shouldnt require bleeding after that as long as you are carefull not to press the pedal or anything).

I have heard of the hoses getting damaged when callipers unbolted which causes the inner layer of the hose to break away and constrict the fluid flow from returning. Is it effecting one side or both?

As in title, need a ignition switch wiring harness from a pfl e30. dont need the key or the barrel, only the switch and the wiring down to the plug on the steering collum. Cheers Oli

Just had another play, seem to have sorted it now.

Yes, its been rebuilt. Today I did the following: Topped up water, pressurised system with regulated composed air wile squeezing hoses etc. Compression tested cylinders, all were 190psi after 10s if cranking. Blead up cooling stem with motor running, drove up the st a few times, temp got to just above half. Packed up went home.

have tested and drilled the thermo. i hope its not the head gasket, any way to tell? no oil in water etc, no steam in exhaust,no sign of water in cylinders..

Yeah i know they are a bitch but this one is testing me... i have removed the top radiator hose, replaced it with 2 other hoses sticking way up in the air, filled them both with water and left it over night, might have another crack tomorrow.

It is bypassed by a single hose running from back of head to thermo housing. no joins so i dont think it can trap air. The thermostat opens a few min before it boils over, perhaps it is not cooling enough, causing boiling. I dont think the viscouse fan is too flash so will wire up the electric tomorrow.

Hey guys, trying to bleed race car coolant. Car is a series car, no heater core, new thermo, wp etc when rebuilt, rebuilt motor, done no ks. Have done the normal bleeding process, on a slope, bleed scew, squeeze house etc. have left overnight full of water and it still wont bleed, it just boils over. Any tricks or points of advice? Have blead pleanty of times before on other cars but never been this anoying. Cheers oli

I think there is a difference in the carrier unit from med case diffs either side of about the 3.15-1 ratio but have never seen one myself. From past experience any commonly found med case diff will interchange, i think its only a problem if you go to a lower ratio than 3.15-1. Some one may be able to clarify this.

Hey guys, i have a few bmw lsd packs that will be for sale in a few weeks. They are factory lockup, they are just the lsd pack so you can make them any ratio you like depending what diff you fit them into. Easy to fit yourself takes about 30min, easy to shim up if you wish as the lsd pack is already out. All of the lsd units have been taken out of good condition diffs. Let me know if you want one.
