  2. hey guys. i am striiping out all the wireing in the e30 and i am after some pretty detailed wiring diagrams for rewiring up new guages switches lights fuel pump engine loom etc etc etc.. some help will be greatly appreciated
  3. have a m20 pfl 2 litre engine with radiator thermo housing water pump intake manifold etc etc. will sell as whole or as parts.

  5. i am wanting to put in a electric cooling fan on the e30 to replace the viscouse fan on the water pump. i want to run it through a temp sensor so i do not have to manualy controll when it comes on and off. i have 2 temp sensors on the radiator but they are both being used. not sure what for.,,,, does anyone know if i can piggyback off any of those sensors and the best way to wire it? ie through a relay etc. cheers oli
  6. hey guys..... got the engine out of the e30 320i and preparing 325i to go in. noticed the water pumps were different. the 320i plf has 2 hoses off it one for the thermo unit and one for the bottom rad hose. he new one (fl) only has one for the thermo unit. was wondering if anyone knew what is going on here and weather i can use my old water pump or if i have to get new thermo unit etc? cheers oli
  7. hey guys the time has finaly come for me to swap my toasted 2.0l for my new rebuilt 2.5l i am pulling the engine out in the my garage during the week. this is the first time i have pullled out a bmw moter. was hoping you guys would know the best way to go about it how long it will take etc? cheers oli
  8. depends if you want sound or performance. performance. straight pipe. im a little rusty on resinators but i cant imagen they would boost your performance. but you may find it hard getting a wof with just one muffler
  9. if you give it a bit of gas does it throw out a big cloud of smoke? if so probably valves. did it used to smoke before and did it use oil? and seem worn? if so probably just worn out with age and it would be a combination of rings and valves. if it was sudden you may have just burnt out a valve. the shudder tels me it is missing or slightly backfireing there so i would suspect a burnt valve. head gasket would be noticed by creamy coloured oil. unless it is between cyls in wich case you would have a real bad miss.
  10. hey guys. just curiouse. i got a fl 325i just had head rebuilt was wondering if it would be possible to bolt up a 3.5l block to it? and maby intake manifold to? just want to know if it would bolt into engine. if i could use origianal loom and stuff and if it would work etc? many thanks

  12. i believe that you could run this fuel on any car you wanted. if its fairly modern the computer would adjust to run it correctly. the only problem i can think of is if its a older car it would throw all the timing of the factory settings.

  14. hey. i am rebuilding a new engine and i am wondering if anyone knows a site where i can download a heap of technical drawings and diagrams for the engine? i have a workshop manual but i just like to be extra sure on things. and dont want to get stuck half way through putting it in because of a stupid mistake which could have been avoided.
  15. will i have to grind out the ports in the head to match the manifold? is it a fairly simple job or will i have to do like 10 jobs to get that one to work?
  16. would something like a 535i intake manifold ant throttle body fit onto a pfl 325i block? and would it use origianal injectors or would i have to get new ones?
  17. how much does a getrag 240 go for these days? i have one but not sure if im going to sell or not
  18. needed 325i block (pfl) not sure if fl and pfl is different. no crank no rods no pistions... just the block. anyone got anything?
  19. take it back to the garage. ask them to test the headgasket again. i am suspecting that your head warped slightly when you overheated it so the new headgasket blew again almost straight away. the garage should have sent the head away. if the garage says that its the headgasket. complain to them and try and get them to do a propper job free of charge (there work should be under warranty) failing that go somewhere else
  20. best option is get rid of the 18s or lift the car abit. 17s look fine. if you have 18s on expect trouble
  21. well uve stuffed your altinator so that will need replacing. possibly replace fan aswell. and im gessing your waterpump did not work with no belt. depending on how much you overheated it it could be between 200/300 or up to as much as 1200 or so

  23. wouldnt be the power steering belt slipping by any chance? or maby its the input shaft to the power steering pump.
  24. i am a aprentice mechanic and havent worked on a bmw gearbox but from what i have done i would say this time frame is an absoloute max but prety on the mark, good on ya estimation there.
