Oh haha Josh, a lot of different things go wrong with them and was thinking i may of been of assistance, i replaced a whole unit yesterday due to a complete malfunction.
-
Look at it, it's a camry, lexus is an americanised toyota.
-
Still shouldn't f**k out, there are older cars out there that have mint Vanos units, what's gone wrong with yours?
-
What's the smilely face version of spew!
-
No badges = big no no! Your Vanos sh*t itself already?
-
Ah you prob don't want the one we have then. Black 4.6is, 78KM, 20" alloys. $49,990. Haven't really given a lot of interest to the 4.6 but drove our one today and it goes really well! Makes all the right noises. Then there's the 4.8is which would be a bit more and use more gas etc etc.
-
Expensive camry, you could get quite a lot of BMW for 20g, if you miss out on one there will always be a better one round the corner. Keep looking, you'll find one.
-
What prices were the 4.6is?
-
The moisture in the windscreen is not a problem, full cover insurance will sort that out. The E46 you posted looks good, bit underpowered but ok for around town etc, the 330, Josh's car, is also a nice vehicle with a lot of money spent on it, two different cars though, depends what motor size you want to go with etc.

They change their numbering system all the time, the X5 50i is a 4.4 twin turbo so a 4.4 supercharged can also be a 50....750i. The 4.8 is no longer so i guess that's why they changed. As for the Alpina thing, am unsure whether you call them both or it's either a 750 or a B7, it started life as a 750 then got shipped off to the Alpina factory so it still is a 750 underneath
-
Very common, replaced so many.
-
Replacements can be ordered from BMW.
-
These would have come in handy a while ago, have to drill and weld my front strut towers now. Technically a strut brace is doing the same job yes?
-
LOVE it, supercharged 4.4, 500BHP.
-
Chrome would be better on purple, if you want just paint them yourself, very easy.
-
MMM Banana. Might get me one of those.
-
You just invite any old one into it haha.

Invited to the mafia, once you're in you're never out, or so the saying goes.
-
Neat we "truck", better looking than the E83 anyway. They do pull very hearty too.
-
The windshield will need replacing, they will agree if brought up. Dents and curbed wheels can be fixed cheaply enough too.
-
That's not a bad price for that vehicle at those KMs, also unsure on the price of the trans service, i don't run the circus i just do the tricks ha. For peace of mind i'd take it to a BMW dealer, they know the vehicles and how to fix, service etc. That's what the training is for haha. You might want to PM Glenn here for pricing of parts etc, he runs the "circus" at Botany Motor Works or he might see this thread.

The trans will last longer if serviced, people don't service them as they're told they are sealed for life, the trans used in the E60s don't have a oil filter as such but the oil can still be changed. They should be serviced at the 100K mark roughly. Cars and engines can be unpredictable at the best of times, as i say i've never come across any major faults with them, (some others here may have?)If you're keen on the car but unsure reliability wise you can always get a mechanical warrenty. Unsure what the price should be as i only fix them How much is it going for? The best way to get an idea of pricing of maintenance is to go into your local BMW outfit and ask them, servicing costs vary.
