Hi Sagar, the E60 545s are generally good cars, they're not bad on gas as they have valvetronic (varible lift) and dual Vanos (Varible valve timing) all fuel saving and power gadgets. The cooling systems aern't too bad, the expansion tanks are the only thing i've seen failing so far, i've replaced a few automatic transmissions on E60s due to non servicing, (they're not life time oiled) so something else to look at. Overall are good looking, good going cars.

What condition are the tyres in?
-
TWS is recommended by BMW for ALL Motorsport engines, however the S50 engines were produced before TWS exsisted so was recommended another oil that we don't stock anymore as TWS has taken over its place. The Vanos filter gets replaced at every service too so i have no worries with that.

The 10W60 is TWS designed solely for the Motorsport engines as you mentioned Graham, extremly expensive also, i'm glad i don't clock up that many Ks often.

Double sided tape, that's how mine are stuck on, haven't moved in four years. -
Engine build up goes a long way towards f**king your motor, have replaced one due to this, was short start stops that did it.

The E34 is quite good on gas, will never go to 91. 95 or above for the 5, unfortunetly the 3 only runs on 98 so that'll stay in the shed for a while.

I'm guessing this car moves across the ground really quickly

90 degrees is normal for the water, the oil temp at normal driving usually sits at 80 degrees, on a track mine goes to 100, doesn't move further than that, mine still has the factory oil cooler though.
