lol now that I'm an expert polisher, I took to the original hex caps.. thinking to go staggered in every way! (half-hex front, full-hex rear). P.s. sandpaper I'm using is waterproof and I dip it in soapy water makes it much easier to get the finish right.

Sweet man, definitely would be handy to get that HEX spanner. I'm probably going to polish up the original hexes and use them on the car for daily use (don't want the half hexes to get stolen). Yeh, its come up decent ay (still probably could use another round of sand and polish though if I want it PERFECT). It's a LONG process which took nearly 4 hours last night. Used 3 grades of sandpaper: 320, 400 & 1000 starting with 320 to remove clear coat and working my way down. Once I was happy with the 1000 level sand I took to it with a buffing machine and finally a few rub downs with autosol. To be perfectly honest if I wasn't enjoying myself I would have just saved the hassle and done it professionally as it's not THAT expensive. $70 a lip is far cheaper than the time and effort it took me to do this!!

Amen brother. It's actually the analogy I used to justify my madness to mum, sis etc.

Been a while but finally have some updates. The other day my mate (an auto electrician) convinced me to get a proper alarm system into the old V8. He hooked it up with tilt sensors, immobilizer etc etc so now I feel much safer about letting the RS's out of my bedroom Of course, there is still plenty of work needed before I can fit them on but here is where I am so far: Split rims, sand blasted centers, polished old lips. Next I need to get the centers painted (still thinking I'll go with pearl white) and re-assembled.

Need to replace one of the brick faces outside, couple of large glass windows and redo the GIB board (cracked) on the ceilings. Hang in there everyone, heart goes out to all those homes that good flooded AGAIN... 2012 guys, the year things turn around

Was hoping this thread wouldn't take this direction... oh well. For starters, please lets not go all FOX News up in here and have an open mind. I'm hoping all the comments made have been in jest (and I'm sure most of them have been). But just in case, PLEASE go do some homework as to why people in Iran don't drink and why their women dress the way they do. I can't speak on behalf of Iranians, however I personally don't drink, both my sister and mother dress exactly the way they want... modestly. I'm sure you all realize there are some pretty colossal drawbacks to a society revolving around alcohol and sex... Not taking a dig here, I just feel that the other side of the coin needs to be voiced. I realize drinking is a big part of the NZ culture and that's all good but lets not ignore the fact that it's the root cause of countless innocent lives not to mention a huge money pit with regards to the tax payer dollars that go towards mitigating it. Lets not get too carried away here yeh

Wow man, that's some good stuff right there EDIT: out of curiosity, what sort of cars does this set usually go on (5x114.3)?

Haha, man it's getting HEATED in here... ** Start Microsoft Fanboi rant ** Windows Phone 7.5 aka 'Mango' is going to rock all your socks off soon! I will admit that it probably needs another 6 months or so while developers and hardware providers (i.e Nokia) properly jump on board. The platform is fresh, unique and provides a genuine alternative. 'live tiles' are a big step up from static icons and all the important stuff comes tightly integrated into the phone (without the need for apps) which works out of the box. Seeing as Microsoft now owns Skype, you can bet you'll also be seeing a kick ass VOIP experience soon. Check out some of the stuff we've been able to do with our YouTube app *** End Microsoft fanboi rant *** Seriously though, it comes down to personal preference now. I have, and use all three... Each are amazing devices in their own right and it's about f**king time!
