  1. Turners Link Must be something wrong with it for price to be that low. Good for the V8 gearbox and wheels perhaps?
  2. I think you'll find it's the "Apocalyptic" converter
  3. Strict rules mean E30 series cars can only run a basic CAI, catback exhaust and .... I think that's pretty much it. If you want decent power from an M20, buy a 2.5.

    Just offering a suggestion Greg.
  5. It requires modification of the wiring harness and some other things. Google "18 button OBC conversion", there's a few DIY's about the place.

Oops. Too good to be true.... that sucks. Oh well, plenty of 4 door cars in Diamond Schwartz out there.
  7. Very interesting read... and I thought the 850 kilometre drive to pick up my new car was a long way. A great way to see the US for sure. Enjoy the car, she's a beaut. EDIT: Just saw the pictures of the tyre blowout. JESUS! How were you allowed to drive on tyres with ZERO tread? That thing was a slick! Wow, no wonder you shat yourself.
  8. "R...E...P...O...S...T... find out what it means to me!" Has been posted earlier this week Nick... but certainly a mint car.
  9. If FB = Facebook then yes.
  10. Big weekend Simon? Many mind-altering substances involved?
  11. No need to post twice mate, someone will have what you need. Try calling Ray @ HELLBM 0212HELLBM FYI, the lip you're looking for is colour-coded to the car. The colour of your car is printed on a sticker on the left front strut tower.
  12. Just buy a new one from BMW, they're under $10 IIRC. Price up a new washer bottle while you're there... most used ones will as be as old and worn as yours is.
  13. Well, with that many dings on the bodywork... we can easily deduce what kind of person the last owner was... A female. *ducks for cover*
  14. Find a ZF auto box and chuck that in if you can't afford to go manual. You'll never fix a buggered Jatco... believe me I tried and I had a mechanical warranty so wasn't worried about cost. Over $2500 later and it still wasn't right.

  16. ... and the brake pad warning light was illuminated the whole time! Now that's ballsy!
  17. Don't do it! I think we all feel that way about our cars at some point. I know I have.... but you'll regret it if you sell.I can guarantee that if you sell you'll be back posting here in 6 months saying "I miss my old E30, anyone got a good one for sale?"

    A Detail in detail

Yesterday and today were two more great days for doing car stuff. Cleaned the wheels of brake dust, but they're gonna have to be removed from the car for a proper refurbishment at some point. No pics, because they're embarassing up close. Detailed the interior: And found a little surprise in the glovebox. Sweet. And my first DIY mod.... black kidney grilles. Very easy to do and looks better than I thought. I can post up a walkthrough if anyone wants me to.Â

    You careless $#%#$%

Eurorec on Blenheim Road is the only BMW specific wrecker in Chch. They should have all those bits you're after. If they're not too busy they sometimes fit parts for you while you wait. However, a fuel flap shouldn't be too hard to DIY. Otherwise, Ray @ HELLBM can post the bits down to you from Auckland.
  20. I've certainly noticed that the E30 will poke the rear out with far less provocation than the E36 used to. And in the the '36 controlling oversteer was far easier.... the '30 snaps, gotta watch it (and also gotta improve my driving skills, any BMW club driver training days coming up??)
