Happy birthday man m50 power FTW!

e39 530i at 15! WUT. Welcome btw,
-
Time to do some maintenance!
-
Some cars will smoke abit while warming up, also if not driven for a while they may smoke abit more than usual.. If it doesn't go away once at running temp, or if it gets smokier under throttle then there may be an issue. p.s You won't find any chocolate in your engine
-
What are you referring to when you say transmission cover? Does the car run or no?
-
Ground control.

Yeah I tried flipping it over too but didn't realise the splines were different so I was trying to smash it on then finally clicked why it wouldnt lol. Fits perfectly mint how it is now. Just don't know how it would go down for the WOF and cert guys heh. Maybe if I got cleaner looking spacers instead of the ripped up rubber ones. Then I wouldn't have anything to melt / burn from the exhaust..
-
I did it. But it's real dodgy having the rubber bush hold them together. So i chopped it just to use the metal sleeves as and hold the 2 parts directly together. Looks dodgy as. Might take the linkage bit in to the certifier and see if he would think thats fine lol.

I have a cluster with a bad speedo. Can have it cheap if you want to rip ir apart for the temp gauge.

I can't find any info on this, But is it OK to remove the big circle heat shield off of the steering linkage ? Removing it would clear about 3-4mm between the steering linkage and exhaust manifolds and I need as much room as I can get as I haven't spaced up the engine mounts or anything. As of now the manifold has been modified enough to clear it barely 1mm but I think it would be easier to pull that heatshield off to clear more room because no doubt the motor will twist and make contact with the steering under when its under load.

Yeah I reckon. I have the z3 shifter in mine, its a good reduction in throw but not too short. Seems perfect.

spam bot lol

Just had it going before again, Seems to go all good but can't tell cos it's so f*cken loud lol. Only problem this stage is I noticed the rev tach wasn't working. Not sure if it's a wiring issue, or if the cluster I got is bung..

I agree with waterpump. Blades have probably rusted and corroded to nothing/ broken off.
-
I have seen the white m325i parked outside repco here in Hastings before. That white one from Taupo was a 4door.
-
Nice. This is going to sound stupid, But what is it?
-
Came to life alot easier than I thought it would lol. Absolutely stoked considering one month ago the car was completely stripped out of everything including wiring and now I have managed to put it all together, swap an m50 in and have it all running all on my own pretty much. *pats self on back* lulz.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwOk12tP_zY Lawl. No exhaust manifolds ftw. But I had the brake booster vacuum line off too, Whoops.. That's why I turned it off so quick and the fact the garages were closed and the noise friggn echoed like crazy! THE M50 LIVES. Stoked as bae.
