Just got this is the mail - NZ Classic Car March 2008 Article with BMW M3 1987 and 2008 1987 M3 belongs to Kent Neville-White, GM of Experience BMW, and is for sale for mid 80K ! Ex Denny Hulme car apparantly.

Seems to be a shame to use that one as a racecar - looks mint in the pics!

Taken from another forum : "You'll want to use any Dexron-III ATF fluid for your power steering resevoir. I talked to the dealer, and they said brand doesn't matter much. I've always used Mobil 1 oils for everything else, so if I were doing this, I'd use the Mobil 1 Syntec ATF fluid. But, as long as the oil you have is Dexron-III ATF, then you are golden."

Rang Insurance co yesterday, my excess is $500, so looks like I'm stuck with the bill Taking to panel beater today, see what he reckons. Would rtaher spend $500 on improvements or maintainence, not this pointless shite!

Yep, I'm pretty sure my remote is IR as it does have a IR LED in the Fob and it only works if I point the key directly at the window.

I do have two owners manuals - NZ one that doesn't have this switch in it, and the Japanese one that is written in Japanese of course, that I can't read!

Yep - from the front side indicator to the fuel flap I was worried about that too - have seen some very 'ordinary' resprays

After having my 1996 Ex Japan E39 540i for six months, buying owners manual, downloading another manual etc, I can't find out what this knob does! Any ideas? I wonder if the red part is the reciever for the door remote - I read somewhere that they are IRed on these cars not RF, but what does the switch switch?? TIA

Look at these pics - this is what some dickhead has done to it Was hoping a good cut and polish might help, but it is right down to the metal on the front guard I guess I'm up for a respray of that side ? I think my insurance excess is $250 or $500, so It'll cost me that TOTALLY GUTTED - SENSELESS VANDALISM - I'm sure it was not helped by the old BMW 'stigma' -- F%#'in Bogans
