  1. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1056832857.htm My Brothers for sale - You'd own it for $30K NZ New, two owners
  2. This is for sale on one of the Japan Auction Sites this week : .... why ????
  3. Have you not got enough Z3's already :) Why don't you ask the seller if you can take it to VINZ or VTNZ for a 'pre-purchase' inspection and ask them while it is there - cover yourself that way . Mate of mine just failed on his Falcon for a small crush on the floor stiffeners - probably from a belly out on jutter bars.
  4. Short but interesting to see the engineering behind these guys https://youtu.be/D4VkZQ7kb_U
  5. Can't find a decent E39 M5 ?? Well according to this video review, go out and buy a Commodore SS instead https://youtu.be/YbLweooe3aM Apparently ( according to the Yanks ) the chassis of the SS is a 'copy' of the E39 !!
  6. Give Dave a ring at Get Electronics in CHCH, http://www.getelectronic.co.nz/about.html likely your ABS module needs dry joins resoldered.
  7. The up / down arrows on the steering wheel - do these operate the tiptronic ??

My brother is selling his two owner NZ New M5 E60 Sedan http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=998006561 Take a look and contact him via Trademe if interested Cheers -- Good car, First owner was a Doctor from Dunedin who used it to drive to his holiday house in Wanaka - lots of hot running. The doctor replaced it with another M5.
  11. NIce !! That's the colour I wish mine was ...... I really should buy this and sell mine....... too bad it's so far away and I can't be bothered GLWS Should be an easy sale ?
  12. Excellent build diary and tidy clean install. Don't be worried about 'Haters' .. doing what YOU like is what custom cars are all about
  13. When we were in Las Vegas the hotel had a channel called Discovery Velocity, I think this may be the same thing. Looking forward to it, makes a change from re-re-re-re-re-runs of Top Gear on BBC Knowledge
  14. My Car is Non Motorsport, and Yes I'd happily pick it up from CHCH, ThANKS !
  15. Hi all, I am looking for a Rear Bumper preferably in Silver to save painting costs to fit my E39 530i Touring. Ray has one, but I can't think of an economical way to get it down here to Timaru !! I got some quotes on a set of Alloys recently, and was shocked with costs ! so .... Does anybody know of one for sale in the South, or know of a freight method from Rays ! BTW - Does the Sedan Bumper fit the Touring ? I noticed on a Trademe Auction that the 528 sedan has the exhaust exiting on the opposite side ( drivers side ) - or is that all sedans ?
  16. So, I bought a 2005 LWB Diesel Pajero to tow my Pug 205 2K cup Car,instead of using the 530i, and I'm looking at putting one of those Double DIN Head units in it that does Bluetooth Phone and Audio, Reverse Camera and NAV You can buy 'name brand' ones that do everything except Nav for not bad $$$, but the ones that do Nav are over $1K So, off to EBay and I can buy a Generic one for bugger all ........ My question is - should I go Android or Win CE operating system ? Has anybody bought one and could recommend ? This sort of thing http://www.ebay.com/itm/auto-Double-2Din-HD-Touch-Screen-Car-Stereo-DVD-Player-GPS-Nav-Radio-Bluetooth-/161679944182?hash=item25a4e029f6 Edit - Might have sorted this myself, I might just get one of these from our sponsor http://www.autogravity.co.nz/shop/Dynavin/Universal/DVN6205.html
  17. Ordered a set of these, arrived today - WOW fast ex Denmark ! Now to fit. Thanks to all whom replied.
  18. My 2002 E39 530i Touring has an issue where the rear hatch ( main hatch, not just the glass ) will not stay up, and it falls onto your head or back when loading ! As there are no gas struts like Jap cars, I assume there are springs in the hinges or similar ? Has anybody fixed this ? Is it a major job ? What new parts do I need ? - I assume any used parts would be not worth the work, they'd be 1/2 worn out ? Or, is there an adjustment ?? Thanks
  19. http://ifixit.org/blog/7192/john-deere-mess/?utm_content=buffer90823&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer I've seen this sort of thing mooted by car manufacturers too - basically if you plug into the car for diagnosis etc they say you are breaking copyright !! Sort of kills the aftermarket tuner business ??
  20. I know BMW keys have been discussed on here and a couple of members ( Glenn & ??? ) said they could get new transponder keys a a much better rate than BMW. Well, I would like a second key for my Alfa 147 and my Brother in Law is looking for another for his Merc ML320 Does anybody on here have access to do this at a more resonable price than the dealers ?? Thanks
  21. Sorry if this is a re-post http://www.themotorhood.com/themotorhood/2014/4/24/going-the-distance-1987-bmw-m3-e30
  22. I think I see why it has such low mileage ......... I wouldn't want to be seen in it !!
  23. Get Miss M to ask around her mates for the Facebook pages with car sales - most cheap cars are sold that way now, Trademe fees are too high
  24. Personally, I would not let my kids drive a car without ABS and airbags - yes I know the knockers will say 'teach them to drive properly' but why would you not want the safest thing for them? I helped my son buy his first car - a Starlet with ABS and Airbag, glad I did, he had 2 accidents, one major - car was written off, he was fine - not sure how safe an E30 would be ? He then bought a E36 with airbags - no accidents in that one thankfully
