As petty and immature as I find most people ranting about people's incorrectly listed 'M' cars most of the time, the way he has bitten makes this auction the exception. Pretty funny.

ALthough I can't help with the check system, may I say what a fantastic looking car you have there. While M-pars would undoubtedly look good on the right E34, the ACS trim options added to you car all suit each other and it is a great example of an original (aside from wind mirrors, i think?), top spec car which doesn't need changing. Keep it original!

Oh k. Well nonetheless does that not tell you to thus diagnose fault with constant 12v, and then take the necessary course of action be it make a new 12v or fix the old? Apologies OP for 'jack.

Why don't you wire the head unit constant to the car's constant like it should be? Im unsure where the puzzle is in this. Some head units, usually original; have a memory that doesnt require constant power.

I'd love to know that too. Factors I can think of would be: -Temperature of timing belt area -Torque on camshaft from belt -RPM -Stress on belt from tensioner How different can such factors be from another car, and this is a SOHC with more freely running camshaft I would expect. My first car was an E30 316i and I remember getting it done at 150km. About $400 incl water pump at a BMW agent.... A long time ago!

Great low kms, and if the condition reflects them then go for it. So it may want service items, carry them out and have a 105km car in perfect nick!

I'm always the one to beat the drum for economy; and I assure you that a 318ti will use less fuel than a 328. Factory figures support it, personal experience supports it etc.... This is provided that you aren't a fool trying to get 328 speed from a 318 with a lead foot. In this case, anything will use a lot of fuel. Dent on the red one looks nasty. You can do better I would say. If you really want a ti, put feelers out for a NZ new AC schnitzer kit/exhaust manual.

Guys are you sure that a lighted E30 key can be gotten for that price from a dealer? In about 2005 or 6 I vaguely remember purchasing from TMBMW a lighted fob plus blank insert and it being at least double that price.

Not BMW anymore but polished the hell out of (2x 3M water-based pro polish followed by Mothers pure carnauba) my car and she is looking rather incredible. Took hours and hours!

I had the GM 4 speed in my 1998 1.9L E46 318i sedan. As soon as I purchased the car I had the tranny flushed and it shifted like new, at 150km. The only grip I can muster is that when going up a steeper hill or when overtaking, the kickdown to what I imagine was second gear, was more sluggish than letting it change down to 3rd instead. I suppose that is to say that the torque and power curves were badly matched to the gear ratios. Incredible economy, however.

Tough problem! Sounds like the sort that I usually have to deal with, usually cold starting related. When I had a problem once which was coolant temp sensor related, there was no time lapse involved, it was simply starting lean and I had to keep some pedal on until i was up and running. As an indication of how time lapse and temp affect parts, I had starter solenoid probs on my 318iS. It would engage first time in the morning, yet had enough heat for thermal expansion(day time maybe 20 degrees) after work that something was binding/sticking and it would not start. As suggested, resistance test the cold start coolant sensor through the range. Make sure it is the temp sensor which affects fuel trim.

Wicked car. Suggesting that this car needs money spent on it is a little frivolous; at 145km I imagine it is in excellent condition as the advert states. Not much point in forking out right now to renew paint, trim etc when the 8% wear that items may have is patina that a car will always attain, not detrimental wear. Unless it is to go in a museum, spending 10 or 20k would be money down the drain when spent on a sound, driven car.
