The purple one is beautiful. About 100m from my house, I must go and look.

Identical to this:

Is this for SLS/ Assisted brakes/ Power steer? Instead of Audi G 002 000 I get Penrite mineral hydraulic fluid from Repco in 1L container. 28ish dollars IIRC, which in hindsight may be all the Audi stuff is anyway.

Excellent thanks, I'll take it into a shop this week. Bit of a bugger if it needs replacing!

Hi guys I have a reasonably powerful car which runs really well and is well maintained. However when you turn the air conditioning on (which blows nice and cold) it puts a very noticable amount of load on the engine. Enough load to make it shudder and sort of vibrate at idle which is definitely not normal. Does anyone know much about air con systems to suggest what may be the prob? Crapped out pump shaft bearing maybe? Seriously hard to actually get to the pulleys etc without taking front of car off as the motor is right smack up against the front of the car.

Fantastic! Keep her as- is. if you have the urge to go faster etc, just buy a second car, perhaps a 328i and keep this stock.

Josh's E30 at city works depot yesterday. I was the white GTI golf next to you covered in dirt.
-
A great idea would be to restore them in current original colour and finish. Coloured wheel fads are over.
-
Not that long ago one of these could barely pull $2000- $2500!

Auto 325is really are dray-ish and heavy feeling compared to manual. Nonetheless the blue SE looks fantastic, excellent colour and looks like great condition so long as those photos aren't too edited. A classic.

Good stuff Nik, so it was the right magazine? I was 11 when I bought that issue and never forgot that colour.

Wicked car, I remember seeing it around in the same trim a few years ago when I had my brown E30. No reason to suspect that the Alpinas arent genuine, China wasn't copying things very well when those square- lipped ones were around. From memory of my ones, non- genuine wheels don't have the same centrecap lock and lock-cap. Under all of this of course will be the Alpina logo and wheel dimensions. Look on Ebay for the badges, provided correct diameter. Otherwise perhaps Alpina.

Believable, my manual 5 cylinder S6 is on 12.9, with longest motorway runs over the bridge between Takapuna and city. Some boosting, mostly not.
-
YEah I second that. Happened to me in my '85 318I, moisture in the dizzy cap.
-
They surely wouldn't do bonded leather. Maybe synthetic like in a Mercedes?
-
Great thanks, Will pop by Precision tomorrow. Unfortunately Evans is a bit far away for me but cheers!

This morning my S6 has been hit pretty nicely when parked, by a woman with insurance. Her agent has told me to feel free to get quotes. I want a very good repair, as it is a quite rare car and in immaculate condition other than the new curves courtesy of a Nissan Elgrande. I live in Takapuna, so something North Shore would be great. Can anyone recommend who I should go to? Cheers guys Nathan

Is the sensor you replaced, the one that the cluster displays? My Audi has 4 coolant temp sensors, one fuel trim, one climate control, one cluster needle and one aux fan.....
-
Ahahhaha sheet that is dangerous but hilarious!

What do you expect to see on an NZ new car? Kit/Wheels/exhaust/badges was as AC as they came dealer new here. Good luck with the sale, a fantastic car. I'll refer a couple people I know are in the market for a car like this.

Man that'd really piss me off. I'm not an unreasonable idiot in such situations either, heck- our family business is retail. I know what it's like to behind the counter and that guy has been a real prick to you by the sounds.

Good post. I was going to say that classic will forever stay in the pre mid-90s realm. I may be wrong though. It may just be that those which we call classic will eventually gain another name, and the term classic wll come forward another generation. The 60s/ 70s sports BMW for instance while raw and classic now, was once a sublime, fast drive- one of the best on the road. Today's BMW makes the same comparison with say, a Mazda. The goalposts have just moved. So for any given time period, cars' range of comparable attributes have not changed. However may I suggest that the buyer has changed. Cars are more of an accessory today than they have ever been, in a world where media has told us how heavily to rely on looks. Any jerkoff with enough credit history can go and tick up an RS4 or similar and effectively purchase a look, an ego, and a lifestyle all in one package which he will toss away in 3 years to upgrade to whatever Kanye is driving this time. With this practice bringing ever more top spec models to our roads and desensitising us, will we simply care less about this and subsequent generations of cars? Perhaps not, but worth a thought.

It will be up north in a shed sorry. Must have been a very altered photo, as the green was a much more attractive mid flat green. May have been about 1997 and had a new generation red Honda Accord coupe on the cover. Either that, or a Silver Zender coupe.
