A few years ago for mums 120i a new key was just posted in the mail to her, and wasnt that expensive from jcBMW iirc. Her rav4 keys have been way more expensive when needed.

Cheers Ray, a great help thanks

I was quoted something like $1200 for a high pressure (pump assisted brakes) for an audi urS4 I had once. Got the hose replaced and the fittings re- fitted at hydraulink for something like 120.

Very nice. The style of wheel and it's void space vs paint area perfectly suit the matching colour e36 body shape.

+10: An interesting point to prove this is that when the boys arent in the market for something or cannot afford it, they have every negative opinion in the world about value. However When you are genuinely in the market and can afford to pick and choose, you are more than happy to shop in th eupper regions to secure a good example and assure good value.

Hi guys 2 issues: 1. The digital climate control in my car seems to have piss poor fan speeds compared to most cars. The fan seems to change speed at each increment of the display but there is really no point in having it below half display speed as it is just too weak there. Air con and all functions work fine. 2. The engine does not heat up very fast according to the display, and even if or when it reaches half way on the needle, it is possible to lower it back down by coasting at idle down a long hill for instance. I have had the thermostat out and tested for hot/ cold movement (albeit out of it's housing) which seems fine enough. It is however by no means new. Any suggestions? Cheers for any help

Good call. The mothers these days who get a Ford Territory as soon as they have a baby because they absolutely need it.... And they keep them a flaming mess. Most of us grew up with mums driving manual sedans with no electric windows or air con and on top of that they werent a mess. Culture of sloth? Apologies for digression.

Fair trade by the sounds, you will probably have to send them pictures of her first.

350- 500 with no centrecaps which cost a bit. They did not come in gold and with a 24 offset they wil be 325i as 325iX would be 41 and have a substantially lower value. That said; in australia(?) the slap dash JPS models had whatever standard alloys they came with, repainted with gold spokes etc from new. I hope this helps

Bloody brilliant thanks Gavin. Best service and delivery on promise that I've had in a very long time from anyone in the often hit- and- miss automotive industry.

The leather knob on my car is shagged, and I'm not immediately keen to fork out the big bucks for one from bmw or even online at this stage. Does anyone have one for me in good condition? Can be any 5 speed BMW knob, plastic is O.K as well. Cheers boys Nathan

No info, I will admit to minimum interest really. I'll admit to not having seen the AC stamp on the actual headers, but then its very hard to see in there. I can see AC on the exhaust and cat etc... and then i see factory looking headers. Buy my car if you want them?
-
I have an NZ new 1997 318iS 1.9 manual coupe with standard msport susp etc. Exhaust is full schnitzer, headers and all. It sure as sh*t aint quick in a straight line, and without looking in the manual where it is stated, im pretty sure 0-100 for manual os something like 10 or more seconds. It has a reasonably heavy clutch and a short shifter. Genuine forged 3l m3 wheels with pirelli something tyres. What it does do however is handle better than any car I have owned (has well serviced/ replaced susp components) and is genuinely fun in corners. Runs on the smell of an oily rag as well. After replacing perished rubber window trim and replacing the headliner I am reasonably happy with the car, however uninspiring it is in some respects. I really wanted a 4 door 318iS ltd.
-
noooo way otherwise I would own one!
-
Yeah if an engineering workshop welded up my completely snapped in 2 places alloy outboard bracket for free, then yours should at least be cheap as chips.
-
With alll that gear in the shed (i mean the tools, not the sh*t) surely its easy to remove!
-
I agree. And the iS side lips are better looking I reckon
-
nice, but is it reiger? the nz 318is ltd came with it too

Wax, beeswax, silicone, baby oil snake oil are all chemically similar and simply stick/last to varying degrees. You just cannot 'fix' something's surface that has degraded by UV reaction and gone into the atmosphere. All that will work is paint, or a product like the Resene one which will have a mild setting product in it just like any clear paint etc. Cannot reverse the ravages of age
