What goodwill is there with a car bought from BMW NZ? I imagine the presumably good service is all accounted for in the money that the customer hands over. As such, I can't see 100K worth of service/warranty life consideration.

Interesting thread to pop up it's head again. Price aside(which I have a feeling has hit it's apex of demand): does anyone agree that in our small country with relatively few cars and proliferation of personalised plates, a safe general statement is that altered plates of any sort are fast becoming unfashionable? Whether they say silly things or not. Or is my taste just developing with age?

Assuming it is the 540i, unless an oddly spec'd sedan or a touring, it is unlikely to have self levelling. Generic cluster. Just like my tin- top 318iS has glow plug light place and rag top roof light etc.

Yo Didnt sell, and in the end after spending yet more money and time on her I've essentially decided to keep her. I shopped around for other cars in a similar price range and was disheartened by the sh*t that people manage to flog off for the same price with a bit of silicone spray, when I cant get any interest for an honest sale. I worry that if I were to get another car in similar price range, it could be just one of those polished up dogs. Nathan

Dare I broach the idea that you may not be serious about this. I suspect that if money is free and easy, you wouldnt be driving a 2002 318i? There is no 'cool' in tyres. No one will look. Brand image is related directly to faith in tyre performance. And as such, image is not in your interests.
