Good point about the red light fine and people getting hurt- if you wrote the letter well, you would be surprised how reasonable they can be.

Oh it's bogan alright, or will be soon- been bought by a deep south raging ginga with a heavy foot and lowrider jeans

EDIT: the video hadnt loaded when i posted previous comment... that was quite low...... but 95% of the time i really enjoy hearing what he has to say when he does it in a sensible way.

Ask Paul at Truweld?

2.8.... It's as much power as i would want in any small relatively unsafe car. They can look really good really quickly with the right wheels too. Did they come in a 2.5? that would definitely do as well. 2.2 adequate- 1.9 lethargic (and this coming from a 316i lover!)

Yeah good call- a lot of the time people on here would call them 'subtle' 'custom' mods etc etc..... I dont like them, but im an 'original condition nz new' loser!
-
I have all the parts you need hamish- very cheap price!

Not too worried about the colour so long as it isnt offensive. But then again I'm not really in the market to pick and choose..... I find black exceedingly unoriginal and read that it says something about the limited imagination and insecurity of the driver.... Ideal colour: The flat, mid- (slightly darker than Fiji) green that they made the NZ 318iS limited edition sedan in the late 90's..... NEVER see it.

I have noticed my mums 1 series doing the same every now and then....... but sorry no idea why either!
-
My 'pina had the holes in the tray welded up and cert'ed, dont think it was much of a hassle for the dude who had it done- on inspection of the patches it looked very straight forward
-
99% chances are that it doesn't have anything engine- wise, as most S3's and S5's were ac kitted by the dealer in whatever country and that much qualified the badge...... probably only german and english cars got engines

EVERYTHING except the chassis did you play 'spot the bmw bits' in martin's morgan? that engine bay is a nightmare! was the jeep your one? i only saw it leave- love it!!

Awesome car! i'm obsessed with legacys....... i have a terrano at the mo but am dead keen on another legacy soon!

If it is a stretched chain (which no doubt I will be proven wrong on) then the main reason they need replacing is that they wear down the teeth on the cogs- a replacemend apparently with through the roof costs
-
Although I cant comment specifically on bmw's nor on an M3, a year ago my Mercedes had the SAME symptoms, and at that it was intermittent. I took it to my mercedes agent who said sounds like you need a new chain. I 'did my reading' etc via the net, where people ranted on about chains lasting forever. In turn I removed and cleaned up the tensioner. When I replaced the tensioner she had a constant noise that I assumed was something else I had broken. The real fix in the end was a new chain, easy to fit and cheaper than a cambelt change! The chain WAS stretched to buggery and in servicing the tensioner to full working condition, had caused the chain to tighten and grind over the cogs.

Compare that with what they earn in Germany?
