  1. Wow theyve gone up then? I recall high 30's for each of mine... (not sure if i was working at JC at the time or not, but even then the parts discount wasnt huge)
  2. Haha "poxy litle e30's"! I dont think ive ever seen these rims on the car, shows how out of the loop i am!

    Find me a car

Alfas rock- but those selespeed boxes have some crap quality plastic parts in them that just sh*t themselves
  4. Yeah Pugs are sweet cars, the 406 indeed a very good choice..... My grandmother owned new 505gti, 309, 406, 307 and now finally has a golf. As much as she loved them obviously, she had 'problems' with every car. Small niggly nana problems though maybe. gauges stopping in the 406, gearbox electronics in the 307 playing up, remote locking issues in the 505(kept a key behind the number plate because of this haha). But hey- those things are hardly the giant list of replacement parts that my 'lady owner well serviced' Audi has on her records!!
  5. Yeah attempted theft list would be interesting!! She did say 'most', and it isn't a prejudice- it is a generalisation for the purpose of statement, with the appropriate disclaimer of "mostly"... meaning not all. A prejudice is thinking that south aucklanders are all criminals. An appropriate generalisation is that poor people do not have flash houses.

    VW vr6

Havent owned one, but jump on VASK and they will tell you.... not sure if auto is a killa or not, but manual Vr6's are fantastic cars apparently- one of the better VAG engines i gather, (aside from my 20vT heh )
  9. I dont think there is an dilemma really... Sure ACS made/ makes some cars itself with a full spec... but they obviously never specified what can and cannot be done to a car with their parts. ACS additions are the only ones BMWNZ have on their own books and supply new(do they own ACS i think they might). Because of the free distribution of ACS parts and apparent lack of model guidelines, i would say that the word 'genuine model' is a redundant term simply. 'Full blown' would be a better term when referring to whatever a full spec S5 or S3 etc is. Thus being the case, the spec sheet as opposed to the simple badge is more the thing to jerk off over.
  10. Talked to Auckland Auto Trimmers in Grey Lynn? if they are still there
  11. oh k ill re add the original- 'bro'. i have the original email forwarded to me from KPMG who use them

    Mint e30

Isnt that steve kbs old car?? loved it, love it edit: yes definitely is- it has the racing m3s interior!
  16. It would get up my fanny as well Glenn if I were often being asked questions that had the same answer and have it made into a catch- phrase. For us civilian folk though, it can be amusing when people crank it out. They are inspired by you as opposed to taking from you. Also it's a car forum- these people arent really THAT smart. Revel in that knowledge.

    Bimmersport Slogan

Bimmersport- who says its genuine? I wouldnt pay that.
  18. When mum changed her 120i's runflats to regular tyres ages ago she noticed that it sort of 'floated' around the place a bit more... but probably just to do with the particular tread or whatever....
  19. Ponsonby road is pretty bad- but i'd say it's because people are ALLOWED to turn right out of the side streets across 4 lanes with no visibility.
  20. A friend of mine has the similar convertible version and you wouldnt believe how impossible it must be to work on the engine!! Half the car needs to be taken apart......! I like car as a whole, not so sure about the cross- eyed look though.... it is, VERY cross eyed.

    Telemarking

A novice can go fast and make wide sweeping turns! in fact i think thats all they CAN do! Haven't skied ruapehu in years- i'm more mackenzie basin and craigieburn.I can see the point for me- I was born with pretty stuffed ankles/ feet/ tendons and thanks to a few surgeons I can at least walk! I'm a decent skier as is, and telemarking looks fun..... My ankles are strong (enough), but my right foot doesnt move much further up than 90 ish degrees.... which is fine for the telemarker as shins dont need to be forced into the front of boot.....

    Telemarking

There are a few scattered in the deep south! At Ohau last year i saw oine guy telemarking backwards down a very steep slope- i was in awe!
  23. is it just me or does "quite bad petrol smell" make the alarm bells go ding ding ding! and as for 50 bucks, well it depends on how much the fuel costs where you fill!

    Telemarking

Im sure half of us here are skiers..... anyone had experience telemarking? Looks pretty awesome and i dont have much movement in my right ankle so could be ideal for me..... How did you learn? how long did it take? Any advice/ pointers etc? or do i need an Austrian instructor... Or should i stick to what i know....?
  25. I was never a boyracer or much like one, so am not used to driving particularly fast...... And hence one thing i notice with my S6, is that when i push her around a country corner the steering kicks like a stallion! In an uncomfortable way. I assume it doesnt have servotronic as there is no difference in steering weight at high or low speeds. Dad tells me that my steering has play in it..... I cant feel any and he may be wrong. Are these things related? Is the kick back normal? It has standard sport susp, strut brace, etc etc.
