Is there any point in doin' a manual conversion??
nath replied to chris-mazon's topic in Performance
Manual conversions are well worth it if you can do it, and/or really like your particular car- and are more reliable than an old auto. I myself buy a manual car if I want one. Well put. -
M325 has black headliner. THATS IT.co.uk done done done thats ya lot
-
love the car! love the colour, and the wheels- just drop it a tiny bit is all..... And hello guys- forgotten about SE spec?
-
What about Hi Tower's 316i compact? its seriously nice, and very well serviced

I live in Dunedin too and i walk everywhere as i dont have a car, but I still know that unless you REALLY hate driving and Auckland traffic, and refuse to let it become part of your day, buses are just too inconvenient and expensive to use. I used to drive peak hour every day in Auck, and only really found Onewa Rd bad- possibly not even bad, just 'annoying' I would keep driving and paying, only until the price was seriously shocking compared to my other expenses and income, and affecting my lifestyle.

Hmmmm havent had toooo bad luck with bmws on any real sense- although i took someone up the arse in my bmw in the same week as i got taken up in a JCbmw car.... Worst would have to be having been the meat in a sandwich in my E class, and also my E's alternator shitting itself on the harbour bridge and breaking down....
-
Its perfectly possible to privately import- When i was at JC we stored for a customer 2 cars he imported- a new 320d, and a new 525d... Sucks though because BMW NZ isnt fully tooled/ parted up for the 525d (or wasnt at the time, and im pretty sure the model isnt on offer here still)

Cool looking car sans spoiler... You would think that a person who has owned such an expensive car for 16 years would be able to spell 'everythink' and 'shitzner' correctly! Nevertheless it is obviously the real deal and must be good
-
Yeah as andrew said- no hope. Flaring is some thingee's inside it getting old and hardening
-
Ask BMW to do an option check on it- should come up with the applicable spec. That vin decoder only says what the car STARTED as, not what it was spec'd/ registered as....

those 'Throwing stars' do look great WITH SHADOWLINE, but they arent at question, so i vote alpina. Why not sell the e28 and get the E28 B9 3.5 (nz new, german built) for 11k?! but then again, i suppose that isnt at issue either!

madandy- I am offering friendly advice on the original posted question....

im pretty sure the grey sideskirts have body colour underneath them, the grey comes off with a lot of elbow grease......

A good thing to do before using 3 step , or colour cure etc, is to use a WAX- based light-ish cutting compound. BUT there are probably quite a few out there and perhaps i just happened to find the right one in my dads garage when i used it on one of my cars..... cant remember the brand...... This is very different to a water- based harsh cutting compound which just scratches the sh*t out of your paint and looks horrid.... Usualy people warn when suggestin cutting compounds.... perhaps i have just been lucky??

i say definitely leave it on! the shiny bits look great on a white e30 FL coupe i think, i went through it all with my identical car.....
-
Perfect choice- i bet theres nothing wrong with it, right? And perfect history? That was Jill the service advisor's car, then her son Jared's, who was the asst. foreman at JCBMW yes? I love those wheels, they look fine for now man. just dont touch them with acid!
-
Thats about right Beau, the small spring in it gives up
-
Very cool wee car there dude- one owner? Is it just the light, or does she need a polish and wax! Favourite E30 colour beside White.. Tough looking dog too
-
Is the carpark in question the HSBC on attached to The downtown Westfield? Its a wankfest of money also..... I think her point was, that name- dropping is rather distasteful.
-
E65's had a factory fault with a bolt on the power steering causing the fluid to leak, and sometimes all come out at once.... perhaps it is similar? Ask bmw- E38's are the most common car they fix!
-
I think what emma means in these two rogue posts is that yes they are in fact her wheels, im sure most people know that but for some reason like secrets
-
So far as plug N play goes, only the pre FL motronic 325i ecu will work..... hard to come by, perhaps bite te bullet and get one from a wrecker? What EXACTLY are its symptoms? I fixed my own pre fl motronic ecu a while back.....
