So today i decided to clean out my air intake/ throttle body on my M20. -Did all that with carby cleaner, dried nicely, put all back together with cleaner, tighter seals than before, checking all pipes etc for conition. All was mint. All elec connections clean. -Once it was all back together, the previous 20 sec sliiiight idle fluctuation had gone from 700- 1000rpm, to 500- 2000 rpm non- stop. Now I know about vacuum leaks, i know the function of the ICV, and i know about air flow meters (basic operation anyway). -After taking the car for a cobweb blow- out, (NOT a thrash, but a good run for 15 min) the fluctuation had gone- and on starting, the car would struggle to stay at 400rpm, and then stall mostly. Tonight with the car cold, it starts fine first pop, but dies instantly. The ICV is doing the normal buzz, but when disconnected it doesnt 'spring' to the open position like i have read they should, instead it stays at the 2-3mm gap same as with engine off and key in 'ON' position (ICV buzzing). Sorry about the complicated post, but basically MY QUESTION IS: Should the ICV spring open when disconnected? (non- event indicating shot ICV) could this be the prob?

I think its hot blonde lady with children's car. only other one i can think of is Mrs Simunovichs one, but i think hers was green.... Very nice

well cosmetically, run your hand under the front lip, 90% of them are all broken and bent and twisted on the underside, if that matters. If its an import and claims to be services etc, check the oil and air filter, the oil is usually black on the imported ones due to lak of servicing.... If it has a TV, the radio cant be re- programmed to NZ stations without getting new radio parts which are expenseve... Make sure the front shocks are OK, for a not- so old car these can die prematurely. Just usual crap like air con works, all elecs work etc, and try get one with uncollapsed drivers seat upholstery. There a whole lot of other things im sure, but tose are most common

VERY nice car dude- love those wheels, wish my tech2 had one.... oh sam- im definitely substituting mtech2 with something..... and its real baby

I may be, and probably am seriously wrong- but that car is in the same area, and is identical to one whos owner i delivered home when the car was in for major engine work, the owner complained of it being a real problematic car? i doubt i am correct and it most probably isnt this car, just the same colour and model. LOVE that colour though

So it would seem that rules have changed to do with rear seatbelts or some sh*t, and people who have cut holes in their rear parcel tray metal need it certified! Although i suppose if it is well hidden, most wof places wont know.

Do children not fit in the backseat of a 3? Id say the 5- as much as i LOVE 7's, i dont think a seven will ever be a neccessity for mankind

Seems to be a fine forum, it includes some very popular models of cars like the w124 under the 'other cars' areas, and i think a w124 is more of a forum- persons car than a w210 is! someone spammed me today about it from benzworld.... i signed up only because i own a fiat. my merc is loyal to benzworld, and i am loyal to BS! oh and im a kerikeri lad as well so yeah bit far.

Hey allan thats a perfect post! thankyou! so yes still wanting educated answers to my question from people who know what they drive, and dont expect or try to coax 300hp of tractable power from the accelerator pedal of a 318! The reason i say this, is that i have had 2 316i's, and found them both fine to drive, and very economical cheerth guyth nathan

318iScoupe- why 20 years? are you a bad driver? Ok so for MY driving (lots of pointless runs around auckland, frequency and distance determined by how economical my cars are and how much money/ petrol i have. Also probably monthly runs to the bay of islands at the speed limit from auckland. aside from economy issues- how about reliability and maintenance of the 318is, 320i, and 325i? nathan
