If your car is pre- FL and has the small oval shaped diagnostic plug in the engine bay, then yes the ECU will work. (im crossing my fingers that you have a FL engine so i can buy your ECU off you!)

Contact the NZ BMW agents, Auckland is Team Macmillan BMW, and Jerry Clayton BMW. They tend to keep pretty good track of CSL's and other reasonably sought after cars.... Same with most places, you may have to really squeeze it out of them, as sometimes they cant be bothered with the hassle

Yeah plenty of buyers, and we also have our fair share of CSL's as well. usually 1 or 2 for sale so far as i know.... Not sure of current price, maybe around $100-130k? only a guess

My seats are FAR worse, and have been QUOTED at 150 per seat- 200 max, for full restoration looking like new, or better if wanted. This was by an old man with a business dealing mostly in shoe renovation

LSD groan is gone since oil change, but rear end (susp/ mounts/ diff/ cv's) does talk to me every now and then when manouvering... i dont give a sh*t an just drive it really..... Highest bidders win. If prices are way low, i'll sell car whole

Good thing about the 316i is that it has FL styling, and guys, how much rust has anyone found in a FL compared to a pre- FL! I have had 2 manual 316i's, and they were amazing. At 200km my first one's clutch died, and at 200km my second (less well loved, but still mint) ones tappets got noisy and needed replacing. thats ALL i did to them. I'd highly reccomend it. Unless he currently drives a powerful car, he wont find performance lacking too much at all. (unless car is full of mates)

Not sure about the hole, i never have been good at them,.... But nice car, and if you were wondering, those are alpina skirts commonly found on pre- FL Alpina E30's
