Yeah, fill out a statuary declaration to transfer liability of the ticket to the hirer of the vehicle at the time. When they pickup the vehicle they provide a home address, so that address is put on the form, even if its on the other side of the world. Its then up to the police if they want to forward the ticket onto the address. Sometimes they do as I have heard back from clients that have had tickets come to their door in the UK and Aussie. Plus to add to the sting the company I work for charge the customer $40 for transferring the ticket to their name... $40 for about 5-10mins work Parking tickets are just a letter to the council which contains the drivers details. New toll road is a headache, customers are supposed to pay it their selves but its not really happening.

I am actually surprised that the police canceled the ticket. I am sure there are rules that allow for some of the information on the ticket to be incorrect. I suppose because the police have no correct date of the infringement is the reason the police did cancel it. Oddly, that same Sargent must deal with most correspondence regarding speeding tickets. I work for a rental company, we get a lot of speeding tickets, when I use to deal with the tickets all the replies for things with extenuating circumstances would be from this same guy.

Semi unrelated but when I was looking at health insurance I spoke to my car insurer (AMI) who don't do health care but were able to recommend some companies that do. i.e. try calling a company you already have insurance with and see who they recommend.

That one has the boot lid from a convertible e30, with the high stop light on it. From what I have heard those boots are rare as hens teeth!

If you hit your sump on something would the damage be covered by car insurance? Like your collision insurance (if you had full cover and paid the excess). For examples sake you hit a speed bump and break sump, oil all drains out and engine seizes as you realise something is wrong. Car needs a new engine at a cost of $3000, your excess is $500 so its clearly in your best interest to make a claim, would insurance cover?

Depending on your age and driving history that's an alright price. Im 22 with AMI full cover agreed value $6500 on my 87 318i e30. $750 per year. When I first got it I was under 21 and so price was slightly higher at $850 per year, same value and cover. Big issue with AMI is a no claims bonus, my parents one carried over to me because I was a named driver on their cars. State are cheap but you have to use the repairer they tell you to. AMI you can choose your own. Just phone around.

My brother managed to crack/fracture his sub on his 89 e30, totally standard suspension and wheels. Still no idea how it happened but it is possible. Sump guard makes sense.

Since Aug 08 I have spent $3,398.80 on fuel. Travelled approx 18,000k, 1782L of fuel. Yay spreadsheets. I don't have one for maintenance yet, have been meaning to make one but have not got around to it. -
Could give Marcus Motors a try, I have used them before and would recommend, they are in the CBD. 09 366 7245

Hi, I have noticed some e46's have longer service intervals than, for example, e30's. My question is if my e30 is serviced every 10,000kms at an average cost of, for example, $300.00 If an e46 is serviced every 20,000kms will the average cost be $600.00 or $300.00? I realise its difficult to compare as they are different vehicles, but I guess what I am asking is if the car does not require as frequent servicing is it cheaper?

That area is pretty much a suburb of Auckland anyway!
-
Is that for full cover or 3rd party though?

Just play it safe and put a D plate on it. Its something like $2000 fine for "driving" an unreg'd car on the road, so not work the risk if you don't have a trailer for it.

"240 cars made for the movie but represent only about 12 cars" sh*t, thats a LOT of crashes.

Might help a bit if you can define more what you are looking for. I.e. Price range (in a number) Engine size Auto/manual Number of doors Special requirements etc

I work for a rental car company, we get a LOT of windscreens replaced (1-4 a week) and we use these guys. http://www.autoglas-stieger.co.nz/ They are good, they have fixed up botched S&S jobs for us quite a few times. Give them a call.

Local petrol station has had these people there 3 times trying to sell it to me. They just use lines like "its used in nascar" and generic bullshit in an attempt to make it sound like an awesome product. Nothing beats good old work, rather than taking the short easy route.
