  1. Just wait for this guy to relist his car http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=205550615 should be within the next week or so. Hes willing to sell it for $10,000 which is probably cheaper than it would cost you to build what you are after.
  2. Winter tire requirements might mean you must have a minimum tred dept more than the 1.5mm as for current WOF rules during "winter" months only.
  3. I ride a bike, its got suspension on the front and rear, disc brakes and mad huge 26" rims. I've managed to top it out at like 40km'h through the forest.
  4. If you earn over $17,000ish (Might be $18k and change I can't remember exactly) you do have to make repayments on your loan. Its 10% of what you earn over the threshold. Also you must be studying "full time" to be eligible for the $155 a week.
  5. Meh, I don't actually plan on going overseas for more than their designated time limit thing to stop it being interest free.
  6. Similar to this thread on toyspeed. http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=71187 A few answers in there.
  7. Cars are NOT an asset, they are a liability. Which is even more reason to sell it/downsize.I am a student too, living at home because its free and awesome. I get the living costs allowance which is now $155 a week (use to be $150). I have saved all of this and its sitting in a bank account earning interest. When rates were 8%+ it was great, now they are down to 4.5-6% so its kind of crap, but its still money for doing nothing. I also claim course related costs and bank that, which is from memory up to $1000 per semester of uni. I also work two days a week (17 hours a week) and then full time in holidays (ranging from 35-60 hours a week). Find a job you are happy, or impartial to working and go at it. This money pays for anything I need, food (not included with living at home), petrol, car stuff (reg, insurance, mantinence), transport to uni, all that stuff. Managing your funds is important too. For example I use my credit card to pay for as much as possible, which gives me 55 days interest free, so the money I have spent sits in my bank account earning interest for another 55 days, then I pay the card off. Sure 4-6& of $2000 isnt a lot per month, but for 12 months of the year it eventually adds up. If you earn over $17,000ish per year while studying you have to make repayments on your loan, so watch how much you work if you can afford to keep it under that number. If you can't its no big deal, you just pay a few hundred off your loan. When it comes time to pay off my loan it is interest free, provided I say in NZ. When I have finished studying the $155 a week will have added up to approx $25k. My loan will be this plus my course fees. As I will have this ($155 a week) in cash I can pay it back instantly if I go overseas. Hopefully by then interest rates will be slightly higher, and as the money is interest free I will still be earning on borrowed money. I can pay back my loan by making the minimum repayments on my loan, extending the amount of time I can earn interest from the loan money. And as I am making repayments on my loan from my wages eventually the money borrowed from the govt will become my own. Its sort of like a forced reverse savings scheme in that I get control and benefit of the money now and will actually own it later. I'm not sure if that last part makes complete sense. Now I have unveiled my master plan please don't copy it

    Carjam update

Not available for the vehicle. Seems they have not been selling any 87 318i's. Makes sense though, they are pretty awesome cars I can't think why anyone would ever want to sell one, especially considering they have the awesomely torquey M10.
  10. Its been rocking around trademe for a few months now.
  11. I am extremely tempted. 2.0L boosted M10 would be awesome. However I have no garage space, tools or knowledge to fix it/make it work.

  14. Earlier in the series Clarkson did a lap in the reasonably priced car. I think he did a 1.52 and later managed to lower it to 1.50. Its ok though, they have the stig.

    Beached az

Everyone's favorite clothing store, Supre, have "I'm beaches as" singlets.
  16. The plastic bit behind the latch you pull to open the door has broken on my drivers door, so I need a replacement one. I don't know the part number but have a look at the pics to get an idea of what I am after. The latch part you pull on is fine, its the plastic bit behind it that is attached to the door which is broken I am in Auckland, but it is a small part so don't mind paying for postage or whatever.
  17. So the shadow lining on my e30 has seen better days. I want to remove it and let the chrome shine. Any suggestions on a good way to do so? Up until now I have been using an old credit card to scratch/scrape the paint off, works ok but takes ages and is hard work, plus I am running out of cards to use. Ideas?
  18. Sorted with Jib. Thanks to others who replied jib is just the closest place for me to get it from.
  19. Ah sweet! I know him from school.Im in Auckland BTW.
