I believe there are more issues with transplants involving s54's than s50's. These can be over come but its alot more costly iirc.

The one in Chch that had the kit riveted on, was there no way to repair/do something to make it work? It was so cheap i'm sure there must be a way it could of worked?

It has 4 doors and is auto, how could it be a 'genuine' M325i?I think if you removed the kit Atta and sold the car on, it'd be quite an expensive way to get a Tech 2.

Thanks John, really glad I looked at this now. I was told today that 205, 55 would be fine for an 8" and 225, 50 would be fine for a 9" but it appears not.

What was the cost for a set of these for an e30? And anyone who has these in an e30 can they report back on quality?

What ever engine you go with, i'd think one of the most important things to factor in an aftermarket ecu and tuning. If your wanting really reliable power with the option to modify it in future, i'd think something along the lines of a Link G4 would be the go. I'm not sure how much one of these plus tuning goes for but i imagine it'd be a sizable chunk of your budget. However, having the piece of mind, and future proofing has to be worth it.

Good luck finding one for $170. Most likely will have to buy one new unless you willing to wait awhile. Last I heard approx $350 new but can't recall where that was from. And yes, extremely easy to install yourself. They're stuck on with 10 little clips. If these need replacing they're about $3ea from BMW
