hi, I have done a complete retrofit of all the items you mentioned on my 99 coupe, it is a great system being all genuine and fully integrated etc.. there is always someone else that has done the hard work already! you are welcome to "check it out" if you are in the Hawkes Bay at some stage or any questions just ask..

Hi, I had a drive in a 330CD about a month ago, 2004 facelift 6speed manual clubsport. special order to nz. very very very cool car and bloody quick for a diesel! - rocking horse sh*t is an understatement. about $40k-ish it would kick my 328ci I would have bought it right then, if i hadn't just bought a house and had no spare cash - damit not sure if its still on the market, but call Jonathon at geoff-gray bmw in Hastings... or ask for more details

Thanks Jochen and Hybrid, I priced this particular BM54 at my local BMW centre and they quoted me $1800. - Cause its the "back" version. I will list it on trademe soon if no-one here is keen, just giving members "first tabs".. cheers -
I have a BM54 professional navigation radio module for sale Perfect replacement unit for jap imports 1998 - 2001, will fit E38 7 Series, E39 5 Series, E46 3 series, and E53 X5's to get all NZ stations, with RDS and twin tuner (displays RDS stations whilst listerning on one station already) this unit has the round pins and two antennna wires (1998-2001ish) - See pics (you may need an antenna adaptor) this does not have aux-in $750.00 any Q's just ask..
-
i realise you've already done this but if anyone else needs the english instructions, here they are. i have numerous other retrofit instructions also -just ask e46_MFL2.pdf
-
it will work, but not ideal... if you live/drive your car near a radio transmission tower, Ie Auckland city, it wont be too bad... more of an issue when you get further away it wont work as well... and you will need to make an adapter from the SMB (small) plug on the radio to the large antenna cable... leave the small cable disconnected. you could then replace the antenna booster to the later type to fix it... OR send it back and get the to suit your car... i'd recommend making an adapter and trying it... then go from there
-
yes i have seen them... pricing is good, just becareful of the "extras" you may or maynot need..
-
on the tv topic, if anyone interested: i've found with bmw tv systems from japan, set the area to Austria to recieve all nz channels, uhf and vhf in the same scan group. then you can set them in the memory etc

i'm installing genuine bluetooth system into my e46, complete loom and hardware for about $1000 with parts ex ebay. loom done, just waiting on module for the right price (about 250euros for a gen13) vrs $1800nzd for a gen12 module from BMW Nz you can get aftermarket systems that do untilise the steering wheel controls - alot cheaper i'm going for genuine for full integration with navigation, on screen txting etc...
