1. the Cruise control is connecting ok to the dme ok if the green light is on. so that is good. you don't need to code the DME to have CC. if the dme thinks its a manual you will need have the clutch switch connected. if you have a fault with your MAF the Cruise control won't work either.. 3. the gm5 can be coded to work with an EWS that are either are radio or IR. have you completely swapped the EWS also? fully wired in?

japan telephone interface conversion to ULF e46
Dogballs replied to Neal's topic in Electrical system
good to hear the pinouts are correct, but interesting about the wire colour differences... weird, but not surprising really.. you should have plenty of spare wires to work the iPhone eject box.. its such a shame you loose your drink holders with one thou..! yeah the standard BT antenna is cheap enough, but don't look inside it when you get it.. you'll feel ripped off. let us know how you get on with the shark fin antenna.. i tried a WiFi antenna once, but it just wouldn't work.. so would be interesting to see if something else will... -

Is it definitely a JBIT in your e46? - I've only done a couple and they are the same as the E39.?? post a pic of your unit.. and plug to it.. the vics works "in-liine" with the radio antenna coax.. I've never seen any other antenna from a VICS, except a diversity control line.. -

JBIT_to_ULF_wiring.pdf Hi, been there done that.. attached is what you need to do.. you can't use your "vics antenna" for the bluetooth antenna. you will need a new one. I'm in Wellington offen, let me know if you want a hand... -
the stereo is a nav system. uses the same nav drive as the full monitor versions.. I have a ZF Six speed box, and all the bits for a conversion (incl proper diff) sitting in the garage... very nice car for that..!

check the loom about where your forefinger is in the picture. the plug is usually taped back there... or may not be pre wired.. you could run wires back to the radio module... but only useful if you have the right version radio module...

anyone else thinking it would be great to do skids on that lawn in it....? mud and grass going everywhere... simple pleasures.

I have come across this before with a mates E39. Disconnect battery for a decent period of time ( I left it off over night and all worked again once reconnected...) It's never played up since.... Otherwise use Jochens navcoder to see what's going on. It has an emulator to diagnose a monitor fault etc... Good luck...

remember guys RTF question. Hes looking at 2004 models, which makes them a facelift model and they have the 6 speed trans "GA6HP26Z" if you are looking at E53's, definitely get the facelift version. lots of improvements on the weaknesses of the earlier ones. E70's yeah great, but you will spend twice as much. (I'm sure if he was in that budget range, he'd be asking about e70's) the diesel engines are amazing. More Tq than the V8. obviously cheaper on fuel. Our X5d (auto) average is 8.3l/100km. - we live rural, so expect a bit more around town. great you are looking at lower mileage, if you get one service the transmission. Even BMW will say to do it. it isnt cheap, but a lot cheaper than a new transmission. (any car with "lifetime oil" for that matter) like any car, its maintenance cost will reflect on how its been treated. inspect and look for signs of abuse/neglect etc.. service history etc etc check disc wear, if they are worn and need replacing - make them adjust the price accordingly..etc etc you cant expect a 10y/o car to be perfect with no forth coming maintenance. be resourceful when getting parts. buy them from over seas and you'll pay 1/3 the price that BMW NZ will try and rip you off. (ie genuine front brake pads $340 from NZ vrs 43euro) I've had a pre facelift sportpac v8 - great fun wagon that goes like hell for a 2ton truck. but fuel consumption reflected that! - the facelift N62 engine is better, but the diesel facelift is the way to go. its the right engine for a car like the X5. google the hell out the two versions, it will become obvious on which one to go for... good luck, they are a cool car!

Hi Ya, Ive been doing a fair bit of playing around with NCS expert & Inpa lately. its pretty cool stuff really... great for changing settings like seat belt chimes, warning lights for Led bulbs etc, retrofitting stuff, changing vehicle order etc etc etc. If anyone is in the Wairarapa / Wellington area and you want things changed up come and have a play...
