My mate with e36 evo m3 has just bought a similar time warp 320i manual - it is a one lady owner job. Just helped him put eibach springs in - lower but not school boy low. Will get him to bring to coffee meet so they can reunite as long lost twins.

Congrats Martin - you have lifetime membership on your man card! Seriously great work! Now you get to enjoy it!

Looks exactly the same as my old bosses car which he bought new.........not so new now! Good chance it is his.......
-
Mine should be free from Thursday.....located North Shore.

Nice - polished by hand or with a wheel? I need to fix my indicators too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What paint are you using - not sure if it's a trick of the light but it looks like you have a shadow chrome effect like the original finish. Nice work - will really set the car off. Love these wheels! To answer breakers question - worth what someone would pay. 750 for four good wheels maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Another highly challenging job - running out of easy stuff and need to put on my big boy undies for the thermostat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am fan boy of the style 32 and that looks great! Major win with your parts car. You probably already know this but the shadow chrome finish on the wheels is really vulnerable - just clean with water and a lambs wool mit to keep clean. I managed to ruin mine with chemicals.

E60 Motorsport front bumper getting pulled off all the time........
NUSTAD replied to NUSTAD's topic in General Discussion
Agreed - Mrs has self identified she needs to reverse into those parks. To add insult she scraped the side on a rock today........#%?€ Yesterday I went to the panel shop to get a quote on my e38 which has some rust from a previous owner dodgy repair and laughed with the guys I wasn't in there to fix the E60. Oh the irony. -
My wife and I may be muppets........but we have managed to pull the front bumper off the E60 four times. Even really low parking bars are a problem. It goes up without a sound and then when reversing it catches....... Anyone else have this issue with their E60 Motorsport? We try to avoid but skill is clearly lacking.

Yep - will check with the boss but overdue for a meet up.

Agreed - nice mix of M. Great to have another M5 close by. Trust you enjoyed driving it back from Welly - central plateau roads are great in an M5! Congrats!
-
Inspired by Martin's delving into the technical innards of the "vanus" on his M5 I have replaced the badge on the back........ Also put in a new battery and Michelins on the front so I have a matched set all round. Before.... After.....
-
Great - just let me know when you get the car if it is mint and how much. Cheers Gleñn
-
Will you swap rear lights and indicators across? Could be interested in the trans shifter lever if you are parting out.....
-
Awesome - you just need another 5 M5 so you can drive a different one each day of the week.....
-
Bugger.....least the 750i looks minty! I've broken ribs and it sure is ouchy. YouTube is your friend for a month!

On Friday I took the E60 back to the panel shop after pulling the front bumper off for the third time...........also picked up the E38 after needing new alternator and putting in new rear shock mounts to "cure" squeak...........not cured. On Sat I fitted some replacement trim to the E38 thanks to Klugan for the parts. On Sunday went to use the M5 and battery is flat......jumped into e38 after fitting new boot stays also from Klugan. It pops open and stays open again! Now the shitty bit. Sitting in traffic and notice steam coming from under bonnet. Luckily only a k from home. Get home and hairline crack in expansion tank is pissing steam. Notice fan is not connected and is sitting loose in the shroud. Wonder if mechanic forgot to refit it. Grumpy. 3 BMs and all munted! Wait for everything to cool - refill tank and drive to mechanic. Leave car there and scooter home.........open beer. Will be an interesting discussion tomorrow.

I really like Rays project - it is cool because it is different and a classy stretch of the m3 story but I reckon the m3 dynasty would be diminished by a factory wagon variant. The four door sedan is a stretch.......I would have one but the m3 is at its peak as a two door on the track.
-
Yes Yes I take responsibility for that - I will clearly need to fix said blemish
-
Keen for the boot struts and foot brake one too. Unfortunately the inner kick plate is a different moulding. Mine has some strikes moulded into it.....
-
Ha ha - you are right and it wrankles.....anyone know where to get them?
-
Came round the corner, two dogs chasing each other and no where to go........dog ran off so not too bad.
-
Front and back now tidy after paint and parts. Tow bar removed - had to buy bumper shocks to fit bumper back on. New factory clutch ready for day when needed.....thanks Martin for organising. Rubbish photos from in the garage......it's raining.....
