Looks amazingly awesome Ray and Co.

Yep, UK import. So its certainly been around the block. But in all fairness, the undercarriage is the only parts that I have found rust. Like there was some in the rear side of the roof, but that didn't bother me too much. But its just time consuming removing the rusty parts. Rustoleum sounds dangerous. Sounds like something that the English would sell to another country for their tea.

Ah like the new F series cars? I do have 2 other project cars that I need to paint when completed, and I was going to paint the E46 a baby blue of sorts. Might look into this Estoril Blue business because a mate has F30 in this colour and it is one of the better blues I think

That is a nice blue actually, ill have to try get the colour code of that some how. These are the bronze colours im looking at, but I guess when I get a few test panels of all the different colours together, ill have to chose the one that looks best on the car

Haha yea about that paint, decided that Unicorn blood blue wasn't going to do it for the over all look, so im currently tinkering with a nice semi dark Matte Bronze. Waiting for a few test panels to be made up

Sorry fellas, I been away for a few months on travels and business ventures. Not much to report on at the moment. I have been doing the under body and over all rust repair, which involves having to jack the ute up and down to fix. The ute is currently at my mates place while he fabricates the rear sail from scratch out of sheet metal. We did, however, re do allot of under body rust. Had to cut out both rear sides of the side skirts and rebuild some of the chassis. I have also started on the tailgate hinge, that is a pain With Christmas break coming up, will have more time to get this finished :-) hoping to have it finished by March next year, only 6-8 months over due

After a control module 232925 23. If anyone has one for sale

But because i have been neglecting the DD for a few months, she got herself a new fart tunnel. straght 3.5" from the cats back with a nice X-Force muffler, sound and pulls way better now. The old standard muffler was literally joking the exhaust fumes from getting out. Will look at the intake and extractors soon.

Ah its been a rough few weeks with this, was all prepped for paint and on the way to the painters, the towy's crain slipped and hit the rear sail and cracked it all through the joining points, so it is now getting a new rear sail made up, but from sheet metal this time. Luckily his insurance is covering some of the damages, unluckily since its all custom work, there been some negotiations happening around how much the insurance will actually cover. On more positive notes, ive ordered the custome VS XX Gold wheels and the engine is near completion of its rebuild, just wating for the new intake manifold to arrive from Aussie. Sub frame has been sent off for acid dipping and powder coating. Will start putting that back together with its new 375 slotted brakes soon hopefully. Will get some photos of everything over the next 2 weeks, including the twin 3" straight through exhaust and custome extractors ive been working on.

So took beasty to Whiti for her maiden vogue ie, breaking it in, and Holy sh!t did she perform. Open straights felt like floating on air, and the corners were quite terrifyingly awesome. No fishtailing and she just gripped. I must say that she handles pretty damn well. Did the whole round trip on just over a quarter tank and did the initial route to Whiti in 1hr45 incl two drip stops. Roads were pretty empty so wasn't one of the clichéd A-hole BMW drivers. Next open road trip will be down to wellington to do a proper open road KMs per tank.

haha we've just bought a 1992 GTR full nismo spec, that's just been imported from Japan. One of the fastest things ive been in (excl bedroom talk) Ps, this is a very tidy GTR, hopefully it sells and goes to someone who will look after it

Insurance wont be very difficult, basically if the car has a Low cert done properly and everything checks out legal, they will send out a specialised inspector to get the "true" value of the car from their perspective. And then you can insure the car based on that figure, or more if they agree. However, the likes of NAC and other Insurance companies that deal in modified cars, might insure it at a higher value, but it will probably cost you more in premiums and excess etc. Ive had 2 insurance dudes rock over for the ute, and both had completely different figures in mind, but they basically said the same thing. I guess these figures will obviously change once the car is finished. Another thing to take into consideration, which I am having to do, is that you might have to register the car as a classic with them to insure a higher figure of payout should something happen, but then you probably will have to tell them that is NOT a daily driver. Maybe speak to ray@HellBM and see how his insurance works, as he has a few conversion machines sitting around.

Block / heads where the pistons are incased. The after market Pistons are slightly to big for the factory. So they were sent off to be bored out a little and also re skimmed

Looks good man. Id be really keen to get a set of trumpets made up for the M62 off you if youre keen

cheers fellas. Yes, its definitely getting close to that time where we will be seeing a near finished product. Still a few things left to do after paint, need to get my rear adjustable shocks sorted from Evan at speed factor, then get the car jacked up so we can do a complete clean up and re seal of the under body. Ray has some head lights that will be picked up this week, and then the massive decision on wheels <- this part will be a nightmare I think. Then its putting the interior back in and installing the push start system. So hoping to have this all completed within in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
