Your car still has a lot of life left in it. I had an 02 530i with 260km and sold it - I have regretted that since the day it left the house. It was a great car and drove perfectly. Just drive and enjoy it.

Sanjay is right - this is the only NZN 3.8 here. It is an early one with the five speed box. Check out [email protected] for the good oil on the e34M5

Give Ray at HellBM a call.
-
They are still available from BMW NZ. Try BMA in LA.

NathanDon't know if you got my PM but I'll take the gear knob. Cheers

ShaneI know of a 96 328i Auto coupe in Hell Red with 120 kms that is for sale. It is immaculate and the price is around $10K. Interested?
-
Hi PaulYes it has - and i can confirm it is sold. Did a compreession check today for new owner 4 at 180 and two at 175. Not bad for 245k. I had to meet the market Paul because I couldn't justify pulling it out of the shed once a month, taking it for a fang and putting it away again - crazy. I did about 350 kays between the last two WOFs. The guy who bought it is Dave, the brother of John Honore who races a Ferrari at our race meetings. Going by what his son Chris said he is fussier than me so the old girl has gone to a good home. As David said the E30M3 will now get some attention. Cheers Bruce

If it passes a basic inspection tomorrow the mighty M5 is off to a new owner in Auckland...sniff sniff, will be sorry to see it go after 8 years.
-
Am in a similar position to Paul. Have had the M5 for 8 years and replaced the battery twice. Beware, the last battery was reverse polarity i.e. charged with the wrong way round, if that makes sense. Cost the distributor a lot of labour and an alternator rebulid. Could have been a lot worse. Get the battery polarity checked before you install.

Still have it Graham - was holding it for a member of this forum to look at as he said he was keen. He has done the usual and disappeared so it looks like Trademe. I would love to keep it but can't afford to run two ///M cars.Have had an E39 530i and just loved it so that M5 is tempting. Will stick to E30's for the time being - am keen to get the M3 up to scratch.
-
You could always buy my ///M5 Graham
-
Looks like it is off to Trademe - was hoping that wouldn't happen given the number of tyre kickers and time wasters out there. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone.

I have the replacement Brent. If i did take your 535i I would be tempted to put a roll cage in it so I'll pass, the E30 is enough. You can still buy the M5 though - remember the price is negotiable.
-
GuysBrent is on to it - it can be reconfigured into a five seater.
-
Hi Paul - Not sold, i have been keeping it tucked up in the shed ready for you.
-
Thank you, I am hoping it goes to someone who really appreciates it for what it is - a true ///M car.
-
Yes it is the S38B36 - 315BHP - 360NM.
-
Yes it is a four seater - that bread box is an option.
-
Thanks Jon. By the way i didn't pay the asking price for it.Harvey and Keith checked it out for me last weekend and it is all there - it just needs some TLC. I spoke to the vendor tonight and the repair cert will be for a bit of rust in the RH sill and floor area. The long term plan is to have it as a very smart driver. Don't want concours then I'd be too scared to drive it.
-
It will be a road car Dave.
-
Thanks Martyn. I thought long and hard about it and only time will tell if I have done the right thing. If I could afford to I would keep the M5 because it is simply the best car I have ever owned. I have driven all the latest ///M cars and they are outstanding but, the E34 M5 has soul. Maybe it is the fact they are the last of the hand made BMW's - there is just something about them that is special and given time the new owner will know what i mean.
