  1. You don't need to take exhaust off, you can take the heat shielding off with the exhaust still on and replace the centre bearing housing, it's a little trickier but saves time mucking about with the exhaust.

    The Hate Thread

Meh, I ran on 91 for a year before realising 96 was the correct fuel, didn't really make much of a difference. You'll hear your engine if you get pinking, sounds like a bunch of pygmies with little tiny hammers hammering hard out on the block.Bah, I hate being completely oblivious to what happens in the news

    The Hate Thread

I hate how my local BP that used to pump ultimate has somehow mysteriously switched to pumping 95 octane instead...95...what happened to 96 let alone the ultimate 98??? Hmm now that I notice it the Caltex I stopped at last week has also switched from pumping 96 to 95...wtf? and they still charge the same...

    The Hate Thread

I hate how my car alarm locks and unlocks everything except the drivers door and how my car key is now munched from using the door lock
  7. You shouldn't have to remove the exhaust to do the centre bearing...and just replace the knuckle you tight bastard

    Engine oil

The grade depends on the engine - you have to admit that Tim's engine only smoked cause it was tired
  9. Bump Over 50% E30 but only 56 active members so far...lame
  10. get tri spoke mags then
  11. Yeah the knuckle isn't a cheap part but you'll definately want to replace it as it'll tighten up that slop to no end. It's a fiddly c**t of a job to do but you'll love yourself all night for doing it. You might aswell do the oil seal behind it while you're there aswell.

Synthetic 10w40 is a winner, search through the threads in maintenance/performace on this topic, you'll have to select to view pages older then 30 days though. ps. Welcome to the site

    Boom !

What happened to your engine, cam belt?
  15. What you could do is take the brake dust covers off from the inside of the wheel hub/strut that way the dust can at least go somewhere else and that too will aid in cooling
  16. an okay idea if you're a lazy bastard but may work against bake cooling and you'll lose the cool look of shiny brake rotors

  21. For Grant Limited to the 15 common options due to poll settings Z series and X series cars excluded, if you've got one you should have an E series anyway scum :finger:
  22. It's most likely going to be your engine or g/box mounts but could be your diff. The g/box mounts get seriously munted and I had one that had cracked right through. I also had a diff that made knocking sounds that occured under heavy acceleration and engine braking, that diff interestingly shat itself and siezed up.
