Ian, i've always said theoretical top speed and have always pointed out that the aerodynamics are that of a brick, I honestly have no clue what my realistic top end is as I don't know of any private straights roads (edit) and personally I don't really care what my car can do, it's not a speed monster! I haven't been on Puke but speedo readings at Manfeild just touch 160 and hit 135 at Taupo which really aren't majestical figures as opposed to Andy's 155 at Taupo and yet to be discovered Manfeild. I would like to know what you'll get to at Manfeild, are you doing Intermarque this year Andy?

Huh? Is that with a 1:1 5th sport box?I've got a 3.64 diff and my top end is well and truly over that, looks to be around 250. The 4.45 diff has a top speed of 205.

See, now when my diff shat itself and locked up in the middle of a main street I just rang my state road rescue then hid. I told them it needed a flatbed towtruck since the car couldn't be towed. It came the guy reversed the truck ramp under the car as far as they could then winched it on, easy, cost = $0 Edit: I should say that the yearly State RR is actually $26 so there's was a hidden cost and the actual diff problem was the spider gear sheered in half and locked up the pinion completely. Replacement diff was $100

Almost as laughable as people e-stating they do 200kph...but since 180kph is very easily attainable in an E30 and that the speedo's go up to 240 then anything is possible. E: Not to mention that the accuarcy of the E30 speedo is top notch :thumb:

Meh, forgot to add, when I had the 3.25 diff in my top speed was 305kph, beat that suckers :rambo:

Haha, AMI rock for not insuring at risk drivers, keeps the premiums down for the rest of us.FYI, AMI are really good insurers, looked after my folks really well when their house got wasted in a fire in December, paid out $90k contents insurance and organising house rebuild.

Okay, differentials do NOT alter torque or HP, just the applcation of it. I think what you are trying to say is that while it doesn't give you more power it does make the power band more accessible especially at lower speeds.So where have you driven at 200kph? FYI, i've used 3.25, 3.46, 3.64, and 4.45 diffs in my car. The 4.45 is a whole lot more frun than a 4.11

A few things First, learn to spell Secondly, this is common knowledge and is already posted in the performance/maintenance threads. Thirdly, changing the ratios doesn't increase performace Lastly, running a 4.11 diff instead of a 3.73 will chew through your petrol like no tomorrow. Ask me how I know, oh you can't, I locked the thread.

If you can do your own work and fasion what materials you need then there's no reason why you can't grab a supercharger off a toyota soarer, or levin, and after working out how to bolt it on and hook up the pulley have a supercharged E30 It's been done to an E28 in Australia easily enough - you'll have to google that website
