After the TC assembly from a 4HP22, not sure if theres a difference between the 4 and 6 cyl trans but needs to suit a FL 318i. Cheers, Lucan

Further, tried checking to see if key was being detected or not. Now a bit more confused Anyone here an INPA expert?
-
Yea I figured that Glenn. Yesterday: New Battery - No change. Today: Just scanned the car "Error 128 EWS Transmission Parity" cleared all errors. Attempted to start, nothing. Attempted to sync EWS, error popped up "ECU Rrejected"....?
-
Ok so I just bridged the EWS and the car cranks! Rules out starter and solenoid, but doesn't fire up now. Either key or antenna ring??

Not anymore (sorry starters not clicking anymore, didn't see the rest of the post.)

So I'd been having intermittent starting issues with my E39 (530i). Would start up fine then sometimes I'd need to turn key on/off multiple times before it'd crank and start up. I assumed it was the ignition switch so tried pulling the switch apart and cleaning terminals. No difference. Tried new ignition switch. No change. (Note starter would click but not crank) Went away on holiday for approx 3 weeks. Came home, battery dead. So charged it. Tried turning over, nothing, not even a click from the starter. I've done bit of research and with an E39 it seems like a number of electrical issues could be the problem! I attempted to test if I was getting 12v at any of the starter terminals while key was turned to start position. Only found voltage at the live cable. Any ideas? New battery, Key, key antenna perhaps? What else can I try or test to eliminate issues? Cheers Lucan

I'm always cautious pulling up at lights after dark. I leave a my power/breaker bar with a socket on the end under my drivers seat, have only ever needed to pull it out once luckily...as a deterant to a fellow road rager who decided to get out of his car when we stopped at a set of lights lol.

Cracked the bloody plastic valve cover on the E39... Anyone wrecking a 6cyl E46/39 before I go to Ray/Brent? Cheers Lucan

So, sounds like you know what you want to do....or are you wanting to know if you can use degreaser on the engine?
-
Put on some tyre silicone, car looks 10x cleaner without actually cleaning anything
-
Have 18x9.5 M-parralels with Tyres, CB to suit E39 but can use rings to locate if needed.
