Fail. The police have just trialled a car mounted plate reader for detecting stolen cars, etc as they drive by. If said reader can't process the plate b/c of font you will probably see red and blues behind you. The font is unfortunately easy to pick out especially with 4's and 0's in the plate, so if a bored officer of the law were behind you at the lights I have no doubt they'd pull you over. There are very good replica's available from websites with the NZ symbol, but they are unable to copy the font for legal reasons. What makes it even more of a monopoly is the kind of plate is part of the registration that is held with Plates NZ. So even if you are running a standard plate when the number is registered as Euro plate, you can technically be fined. Painted on or sticker rego's are also illegal. Read the posts above you and the other threads on the forum. Anything but plates issued by licensys is illegal. All of the above is from my queries to a Licensys representative over the phone when I wanted to replace my P-Plate.

The 4's have a gap in them too. NZ plates don't IIRC.

You're not the only one.. I used Brasso on an old red civic followed by Meguiar's medium cut then yellow pre-wax then gold class. It actually went back to red....but only after a whole day of elbow grease Invest in a random orbital polisher if you're lazy/have expendable income
-
Unless you have other red/green bits on the car, I reckon go for the white stripe.
-
No, 'cos I got dibs on flourescent green j/k In all seriousness I think flouro wing mirrors wouldn't really look that good
-
+1 I have my old one, free to a good home
-
No, my friend's Trueno has recently been pinged for yellow headlights

Try Super Cheap Auto. They can get the Penrite range ordered in at a much lower price. RBF is ~$80 at Repco when I checked, same product from Penrite was $15+freight when I ordered through SCA.

I avoid looking in plate glass at my car. It reminds me how much more work is need.

I'm gonna go against the grain, and say those steelies on the Corrado are hideous... That black e30's wheels look goot, but aren't steelies are they? I thought they're "NASCAR Style" copies a la XXRWheels

How does it mount? I can't quite picture it?

schnitzel and is lips do not equal cheap. Get a oil cooler pfl lip and pimp your BMW, paint those bumpers and save up for suspension. My 2c

Buy me a lotto ticket For now I will find some 17x9's to pimp on the race car Btw, saw some of that intro you posted, WTCC looks to be pretty exciting!
-
Dan, I rang plates with my p-plate, but they still wanted $300 to change to Euro Unless the number has been registered as a Euro plate with Plates NZ then it'll "only" cost $79.99 to remake by licensys.
-
Woah, that's pimp Dan. What are the DRFTIT plates going to go on now?
-
Option 3. Use $$$ on seat time ...But I'm not a wise BS head.

That's choice, I love loud coloured cars. Did you own an S2k at some point? (Just wondering about your name, the Amuse S2k is a serious piece of kit!)
-
Wow, that's quick, that's about the same as some of the E30M3's isn't? Any idea how much the beast weighs?
-
Wow, those E90's have AWESOME stance. IIRC They're 300kg lighter than factory models or something ridiculous like that?
-
By "motorsport getrag" do you mean the dogleg? If so, how much are you after?
-
Peter Bromley's is pretty choice too (my favourite open class car): More here
-
I'd agree, much quicker than my E30 through twisties, and despite being wrong wheel drive I think they're a great driver's car. Very rewarding to drive I dunno....you get some pretty sweet lift off oversteer on demand with the DC2R's.
-
I think I still have mine, if you can't find any shoot me a PM. I sure as hell don't need em, and my E30's the furthest thing from mint

2002 turbo and 2002 Tii are two different models. IIRC - 2002 turbo had a turbo 2.0L M10 while the 2002 Tii had a mechanical injection 2.0L M10 as opposed to the standard 2002 Ti with a carbureted (sp?) 2.0L m10

2002's are properly awesome. Cam's is going to look/looks totally sweet, especially the colour it is! But it's in many pieces atm..
