Already using a non A/C unit You're welcome to raid my A/C bits if you like? Have compressor, etc. It needed regassing though.
-
I suuuuure do! (you mean the big bit that sits under the dash right?) Either way, you can come have a look if/when I'm free.
-
I don't think I'd trust a dinged up supercharged E46 with no history...perhaps a recipe for a grenade no?
-
Updated with aircon bits. They're headed for the tip if no one wants em.

Will get pics and get them off the rims asap. edit: Can sell fitted and balanced to 35p 15x7 enkei Rp01's in 4x114.3 for $500 (firm) if anyone's interested. edit: rims and tyres sold

I'd love to try it. What time would be good for you? I'll be in the city/tamaki, but I can pop back to the Shore. Thanks heaps.

Lol, I guess sometimes it's a good thing not owning an M car.
-
Cheers Silver Fox Sounds like they might fit with a small spacer... Time to hunt one down to try.

Adding up my receipts and bits was a bad idea Could've bought a E36M3 that'd be a lot faster

Definitely keep it chrome. (imho)

I'm struggling to find 15x7's that will fit over my brakes. I would like to see if these would fit. Does anyone in the Auckland region have a spare wheel I can test? Just need to have a look at clearance. Or if anyone could measure the inner barrel of the wheel and hub to spoke distance? Cheers, Jonathan

I agree, decent shocks, matched to springs that will give you the poundage and ride height you want are better value for $ imho. Camber/castor plates may not be necessary in your case FrantiC?

I was considering D2's. But D2's have a terrible reputation for poor quality and poor spring/damping combo. Dampers are also prone to leaking, and have poor rebound. Real coilovers will need reinforcement to the rear strut towers = $$$ Adjustable spring shock combo uses the standard spring perches. I'd much rather put the money toward a decent spring/shock combo. Race King Springs and matched Koni's from Stocks would be a better way to spend $1200. The cheapest complete coilover kit I found at the time is the Ground Control kit that I'm using. All up, including modification of the struts, gst and shipping was close to $2,700 (edit: this includes my spare set of front springs). You get what you pay for. My kit came with: -Shock dyno matched Koni SA's and Eibach springs. (I paid an extra ~$200 for custom shorter rear shocks) -Coilover platforms and sleeves -Camber/Castor top plates -Solid mounts -Custom bumpstops The kit is all quality and seems unbreakable. If you're going 5-stud, Ground Control do a totally sweet, specific E36/E30 kit. Comes with already modified struts! Link here edit: Appears GC no longer do the track school kit I have. Sorry

Those Advanti's have awesome stance on an E30 (never thought I'd ever say that) and they work very well with 205 rubber Big space for brakes too

Wow, looks like you'll be scraping cat's eyes off the road once you get rid of the arch gap! Pimp.

Good luck mate, I got too many things on or I'd come lend a hand

Harder springs won't solve the problem. The problem is the rim lip is not inside the guard. Even on harder springs there will be times where there is full compression - driveways, etc If you want to keep the wheels, then the guards need to be pulled/extended wider. For the front you'll probably need more camber on top of guard modification - which means more tyre wear and poorer braking. Are the inner lips of the guard rolled flat? Or are they just rolled? Don't let the shop rip you off by giving you a half arsed solution!

But they stop commiting crime in the state that enforces three strikes, it seems to work. If surrounding states enforced the same system, where would they go? I do not think your argument holds very well. Perhaps a problem with the three strike system is that you'd have a population living in fear and/or full prisons if the threshold is too low, or ineffectiveness if the threshold is too high. Of course if the sociocultural problems were addressed instead of consequences that would be the best solution. But that is not very feasible, especially when blanket countermeasures are not at all effective if not tailored to the individual. And trying to map variables for just one person would be hugely expensive and time consuming, let alone the criminial population of a state.

Get a mallet and bash away at the guards. Expect paint to crack and guards to look a bit sh*t.But to be honest, there isn't a cheap way of making these fit. Look at your front! Guard extension is needed all around and that isn't very cheap...

+1 I guess one reason behind not going vigilante is the price of escalation?

Had a quick look on trademe for you, looks like they're not so easy to come by any more Here's an example of what I mean (I could've sworn they used to be cheaper!) - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-212559159.htm These should come in much skinnier sizes than a bolt on. To be honest, at those prices - it might pay to ask a machining shop how much for a set to be fabricated, I can't imagine they'd be that hard to do with for anyone with a lathe and a mill..and you can get exactly the specs that you want, 57.1mm (e30 inner) and whatever the size of the wheels you want to run Also, you can have the spacers the same size as the hub/bigger than the wheel's mounting surface for even more strength and less movement. Try smaller companies like CNC Prototyping might be more willing to work on a small job like this?
-
The LM's have same laaaaaaaaaame as outer barrels, would probably affect what they're worth. $$$ to change the barrels.
-
You can get decent slip-ons with hubcentric inner (hub side) and outer (wheel side) with single stud holes. They're entirely legal with a cert.
-
I think it'd look a bit tacky in matte finish no?
-
Nah, got mine from Vaughan Motors. Driven wanted about twice as much.... E30ONP, they're were just nice with 20mm, especially on the rear. I guess an extra 5mm will require guard modification. Edit: Seen the Driven Performance adaptors on trademe? They've really dropped in price! $180 per pair isn't too bad.
