My thoughts exactly... If they had gone for the Grange I know of at least one NZ factory that would have picked up quite a bit of extra work.. would give the VIPs a few memories if the right drivers were chosen as well (does Murph still need a day-time job??)
-
^^ Interesting how many country's governments use cars that are manufactured in their own country, Germany, Uk, Japan, Russia, USA, etc. Whilst NZ doesn't have it's own car industry anymore there are many jobs here that are directly linked to the manufacturers in Aussie, shame this deal didn't support those jobs.

Or Ray at HellBM, he got a batch in a while back.

E46 Facelift Trailer Wiring Module

Let me guess, it's not an easy thing to do?? -
Looking for the electronic box of tricks to connect an E46 up to a trailer, has to be for a facelift car though. I know there is a BMW one and possibly some after market versions. Anyone got one that they don't need? I have the towbar just need to box of tricks to make the electrickery work.

Rust. Apparently

Late 80's icons for me... E30 M3 (would still kill for one...) Sierra RS Cosworth (can't get past the plastic interior now) Ford Escort RS Turbo Custom, only came in white, can't believe I ever liked them now! Came as close as owning a Mk3 Escort - but not a turbo unfortunately. Peugeot 205 1.9GTi - first thing I bought when I graduated from uni.. great fun but interior tended to rattle and fall apart on you regularly.
-
Don't tell them it's a race car or been modified?? 3rd party fire and theft only?
-
^^This. Apparently this white car is "mint" so maybe worth a few extra $$$s, but there are other E30 M3s from $28k upwards which have been for sale for a long time and not moved.
-
Well spotted that man, and well spotted that it has re-listed, under a different seller. When I saw the photos and the seller, I put two and two together and believed it to be the same car, but on closer inspection it is not. This one is a US spec, with the side marker lights / reflectors in the bumper strip. I might have to have a nosey....

Which car had the M88 motor in it? It's not from the Alpina is it, I can't see a snail or plumbing? -
It's a pretty common converter lead, I've seen them in Repco and also in the local 4x4 / diesel / autosparky specialists in town. Shouldn't be too expensive either.
-
I have got a complete fan unit, with all the controls attached to it, plus bits and pieces of the plastic ducts, vents, etc. All here in Palmy for cheap if you need it!
-
Some great pics there Jack, nice work. A few Bimmers obviously came out to play. Have you got these photos in higher resolution? I would love a high-res version of the two E30 M3s together. I'm guessing that is THE Denny Hulme M3 and is that Conrad's new M3 or his old M3 with it?
-
Great result, you should be very happy with that. Also great to see it has been saved and not broken for parts.
-
Depends what you mean by "cheap", by the time you add on $4k for shipping Vin, MAF, etc. plus $750 gst + $400 compliancing (not including fixing any issues they find) the prices starts to get up there. With this particular car, the fact that it had to have welding work done for the MoT (UK WoF) would be a cause for concern, plus it is not a factory Alpina but a Sytner conversion so maybe not as collectable / valuable? Still a nice looking wagon though.
-
Are you allowed to run a turbo on an E34 (guessing you are looking at the Open Class)? E28s got in on a special case due to turboed Alpina E28 I think.
-
The badly done kit, Schnitzer replica wheels and pod filter all suggest to me that someone has had a bit of a play with this car in the past. That would suggest to me there are likely to be few nasties lurking in there somewhere which could mean big $$$$s to fix.
-
That is true, but it also say's that items which are fitted must be functional. So the fact that there are reverse lights in the back of the car means they should be working. If you are lucky Jack you might get away with it.
-
Have a good one Mr Motorsport! Take all your cars for a skid - that should keep you smiling ALL day!!

Eh? Sounds more like North Wales to me than South!

Not sure if it helps, but the only person I know who has made it all the way to being a pilot for one of the big airlines is the biggest lunatic I know, with absolutely no sense of fear. If I ever get on a plane and hear the words "Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain D#$ B$@@& speaking" I'm getting off there and then - he scared the life out of me in a Renault 5, don't want to find out what he can do with a Boeing!

I hope this isn't a Bimmersporter.
