    Quick rant thread.

Yeah its appalling out there, numpty in the 323 was sitting in RH lane of SH1 (on the new autobahn..) going from braking hard when he saw lights in distance and freaking out, to driving off the road, to going well north of 160... then he tried lining me up for a race, which resulted in the bird. Was thinking afterwards, is the problem our weetbix license system? A big chunk of my job is carrying out checks on UAV pilots, making sure they know the rules and can fly, and its my name and reputation in the industry (and with CAA) that goes on their certs. If I think they are plebs and are going to go out and be cocks afterwards, and I am not happy to have my name on their cert if something went sideways, I dont sign it. I dont think the same sort of system applies with cars? Are the people clipping tickets doing drivers tests directly accountable for whom they are signing off? Other issue is obviously those who just simply dont have licenses, different problem to solve there..

Drove from Opotiki to Auckland this evening, the number of drunk/high c**ts driving is genuinely scary... The methhead in JYD178, e90 323, I hope when you kill yourself you dont take anyone else with you.
  5. +$50 Ive been trying to get a Simota intake, no one has any in stock, not even Simota factory answer me.
  6. Yikes! Dont do it I would say GLWS, but I wont haha. Personally, I think 18 is completely fair, any other part of the world it'd be snapped up as a bargain at that price.
  7. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3718963907 Looks a bit ropey, but should be cheap.
  8. Took it for a blat up to Kai Iwi, via every fun looking B road I could find on google maps.... trying to clock up the magic 300,000km... (and coincidentally have had the 130i for 7 years this week, I dont see myself ever selling it ) Big stupid grin, in between the pot holes. Tyres are absolutely epic, its absurd how quickly can take corners, and the whole thing feels balanced and cohesive at the limit, from the power to the gear ratios, to the grip levels. Dead keen to try it on a track, be curious to see how the Bird B1 setup works, some say its a bit soft for track work, but damn does it work on NZ roads/goattracks.
  9. Im the same, snow foam seems to be mostly hype... I only do it now if caked in sh*t.. and even then I dont think it does much other than make the drain all soapy...

Humans dumber. Im pretty sure the human race is actually devolving, we will back in the trees throwing poop at each other soon, probably via a stage not far off what was shown in Idiocrasy
  11. I have one of these - https://www.bissell.co.nz/products/little-green-2067g its legit for car interiors. Made coffee out of many car seats.

If cops just sat in each town on a foggy morning and revoked the licenses of every pleb driving around without lights on we could probably meet emissions targets.
  13. 2025 M3 co-developed with new Honda Civic Type R confirmed
  14. Its was more the 700,000km... and the condition of it..
  15. https://www.standvirtual.com/anuncio/bmw-330-ID8PczZ4.html Pretty impressive!
  16. Quick shout out to FCPEuro, they arent always the cheapest (sometimes they are) but their service is nearly unbeatable. Back in December I ordered a new Mahle radiator for the 130i, for the impending engine swap (when I eventually get the time to do it!). I opened up the radiator box last month, found it had been bent in shipping. 6 months after I bought it and the damage had been done. Emailed FCPEuro and explained what had happened, they said sweet as sh*t happens - send it back and will sort it. I said, it's not going to be cheap to send a radiator from New Zealand to the US.. their response was sweet as we got the shipping costs. So I ordered a new Mahle radiator and they had stock issues, so got sent a brand new genuine BMW one. Legends. (Also finally got hold of a SMF Valeo clutch kit)
  17. Manual 123d NZ New E87 on faceballs and tardme, cool, rare car. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3698980912?
  18. Agreed, had the same and I had to threaten them with court action as a teenager they backed off and paid up, but now Im black listed by state, no loss Ill call AA Monday and get some quotes and agreed values sorted.
  19. Anyone use AA? Any thoughts on them? They look to have pretty decent customer satisfaction reports from consumer NZ. Im currently with AMI, who have made a complete and utter f**king mess of recent claim on house and are not digging up. Looking to change insurer (2 cars, house/contents, business with 1 car)

    2006 E87 130i

Even at 8k it'd likely be the cheapest manual 130 in the world.

  22. Thats cool, can see how they inspired Triumph 2000/2500s

    Elias' 135i project

Ive been wiping permetex black sealant on the oil filter housing gaskets, just a smear over the whole gasket before install, havent had one leak again yet (ones got nearly 100,000km on it and still dry), which seems to be better than how they perform when installed dry.
  24. Is that a big paint loogy above the LH front indicator, or is the front of the guard bent.
  25. Have you seen the state of NZ roads? If its a track car, year for sure a 135 is going to be wicked faster in a straight line, however in the real world ya just cant use a million BHP on the road without ending up in a ditch. 99% of the time you'll never be able to use the power, but your still paying the maintenance etc etc.... I totally get it, 135i's are cool (1Ms are way cooler though...) but we live in the real world. I drive my 130 pretty hard, down some of NZs maddest B roads, and the smiles it generates as you slot through the gears, being able to use the power it has... hard to beat for the price (for any brand of vehicle - a rear wheel drive hatchback with a manual gearbox option and arguably one of the best NA 6 cylinders ever made - There aren't many competitors). Also, I like driving my car rather than having penis size competitions on dyno numbers.
